In all honesty, the 2025/26 Premier League season has been turned upside down through nine weeks of action, and for any neutral fan, it has been a great start to the season. We’ve had upsets galore, with preseason powerhouses Liverpool, Chelsea, and Man City being toppled on more than one occasion.
To make things even more interesting, some of the usual mid-table teams have found themselves mixing it with the big dogs. This has caused it to be a tough early season to navigate, especially when it comes to tipping each game.
Regardless, we have a job to do here at betcha, so we’re going to do it to the best of our ability as we preview each game and share our best bets for the matchweek ten slate.
Once again, we start off this weekend’s slate with a less than ideal matchup from a spectacle point of view. However, there’s still value to be found, with the floundering Wolves side travelling to Craven Cottage to take on what has been an underwhelming Fulham outfit.
The strongest argument for either side is that Fulham tend to perform well with home advantage. So, while hosting a mistake prone Wolves side, I like Fulham to add three points to their tally.
This is a sneaky good matchup between 10th and 11th place on the table, as Palace will host the Bees on Sunday morning. Under Oliver Glasner, Palace have been a tough side to break down, as shown by the dominant run they had a month or so ago.
However, one player who has consistently found a way through the Eagles defence is Brentford’s talisman, Igor Thiago. Generally speaking, whenever he’s faced them, it’s been a happy hunting ground for Thiago, which is why I’m leaning towards him finding the back of the net once again this weekend.
We’ve seen a resurgent Manchester United side who are finally showing the kind of life a club with their level of investment should be. Forest, on the other hand, have gone from Premier League darlings to a laughingstock after what can only be described as poor decision-making from the top down.
There has to be a bounce-back on the cards for the Trees, however I’m not sure this is the fixture where that will happen. A great first step would be to actually put the ball in the back of the net, which is something United have been struggling to prevent. So, give me both teams to score in this one.
Arsenal have been the only team not to stumble so far this Premier League season, and I’d expect that trend to continue as they travel to take on Burnley this weekend.
I’d imagine them to dominate the game and pepper the Burnley defence with shots from all over the pitch. This should see the Gunners draw plenty of corners on the day, with Burnley likely to be under the pump for much of the match.
A couple of lower mid-table strugglers will battle it out on the south coast in the early hours of Sunday morning, with the Seagulls hosting Leeds in what is an important game for both sides.
Brighton, at home and likely the stronger team, should get up for this one. Their strong home record against the visitors echoes that sentiment, having not lost to Leeds at home since 2016.
One of the big-time matchups this weekend features a top-six London derby, with Spurs hosting Chelsea in what could be a turning point for both clubs and their season’s prospects.
In recent history, Chelsea have had Spurs number. However, they’re yet to face off against Thomas Frank at the helm of the North London club. Add in the fact that both teams are experiencing some inconsistent form, and with Chelsea being hit hard by injuries, there’s plenty of room for unpredictability. With that being the case, I’d expect goals to be flowing, so give me over 2.5 on the day.
Liverpool are digging themselves a huge hole early in the season, having lost four games on the bounce, and visiting Aston Villa will be looking to extend that to five. Villa will fancy their chances, with no losses in their past five league games and four straight wins.
With that said, I think Villa will ooze confidence at Anfield and rub more salt in the wound of Arne Slot’s side by taking at least a point when it’s all said and done.
The Hammers have scored just one goal in their last three home games, while Newcastle, who aren’t in tip-top form based on recent history, should fancy their chances this weekend. This confidence comes from the fact that they have yet to lose to the Hammers since 2019.
I think this weekend will be no different, with the away side boasting much better talent and taking on a West Ham team that looks like a shell of the club they once were.
The last three Premier League games hosted at the Etihad have seen four goals or more, showing that teams travelling to City haven’t been shy of playing attacking football.
With the Cherries making the trip this weekend, we have a rather exciting matchup on our hands. It features the high-flying Man City attack and a Bournemouth side enjoying one of the better starts in the club’s history. I think an away win might be a tall task for them, but I can see them finding the back of the net.
Sunderland will be feeling very good after stealing three points at the death against Chelsea this past weekend, so they will no doubt welcome the challenge of Everton on Tuesday morning.
I think the Black Cats, at home and riding the high of winning three of their last five, might be a bit too much for the Toffees to handle, who have only won once in their last five. So give me the home side to take all the spoils once again this weekend.
