US Open Round 1 Tips & Predictions 2026

The US Open kicks off this Monday morning, and there are some great Round 1 matches on the schedule at Flushing Meadows.

Our US Open tips and predictions highlight four of the best matches, and the latest US Open tennis odds are available now at Betcha.

Jiri Lehecka vs Pablo Carreno Busta
Pablo Carreno Busta +5.5 Games @ $1.96

There’s plenty of support for Jiri Lehecka in the market, and it’s easy to see why given the level of tennis he has produced recently. However, we think Pablo Carreno Busta can make this a much tighter contest than the odds suggest.

The Spaniard may not arrive at the US Open in his best form, which explains his $4 price, but his experience at the Grand Slam level shouldn’t be overlooked. Carreno Busta has the game and resilience to make life difficult for Lehecka on Monday.

We’re backing Carreno Busta with a +5.5 game handicap at $1.96. At those odds, we think there’s enough value in the Spaniard.

Toby Samuel vs Tomas Machac
Tomas Machac @ $2.15

There’s plenty of value with Tomas Machac as the underdog here. He comes into the match having lost his last three, but he has already shown that he can perform when the stakes are high.

Machac is ranked 58th in the world, well ahead of Toby Samuel at 110th, and while his recent form hasn’t been flash, the US Open is a chance to turn things around.

Samuel deserves credit for winning four of his last five matches, but those victories haven’t come against particularly strong opposition, and we’re not convinced the Brit has been tested enough heading into this one.

At $2.15, Machac looks like a price worth taking. We’re happy to back him to cause an upset.

Emma Navaro vs Lois Boisson
Emma Navaro 2-0 @ $1.80

Emma Navaro has a clear class advantage over Lois Boisson, and we’re surprised by the US Open odds for her.

The American is ranked 27th in the world, compared to 236th for Boisson, and we expect that difference to show up in the 1st round. She has experience making deep runs in Grand Slams, and being American helps.

She’ll have the home crowd on her side, and she should roll through Boisson in straight sets.

Hanne Vandewinkel vs Karolina Pliskova
Karolina Pliskova @ $1.90

We’re going with the more experienced Karolina Pliskova, who used to be a top-tier player, and she could get back to that form at Flushing Meadows.

She is still ranked inside the top 60 in the world, which isn’t easy when you have to defend titles. She’s a consistent player, especially when playing Grand Slams, and that should be too much for Hanne Vandewinkel.

Her lack of experience could be telling in the 1st round of the US Open, and $1.90 for a player of Pliskova’s experience is tough to overlook. She is a good multi bet addition at the current odds.
