Right, we’re back again after those mid-week fixtures.
Movement throughout the table as Man City got back to winning ways, Liverpool fans went through it against Newcastle and now have their final game at Goodison Park to look forward to.
Arsenal and Chelsea closed the gap at the top and have another chance this weekend to the top even closer.
Starting with the Merseyside Derby and finishing at London Stadium with West Ham hosting Wolves.
Tough sledding mid-week, looking to get some winners on the board for the weekend.
Liverpool fans were taken through all the emotions during their 3-3 draw at St James’s Park on Thursday. A Mo Salah double helped them to take the lead before a 90th minute equaliser bought the hosts level.
The Merseyside Derby, the last one to be played at Goodison Park. It’s been an intense run for Liverpool with big game after big game and now, they’re eyeing up their 100th win at Goodison Park.
Now I would’ve said Liverpool comfortably here but they’ve got to be physically and mentally fatigued plus Everton just had a 4-0 win over Wolves.
In big games, it’s your special players that stand up and with 13 goals from 14 games this season how could you not back Mo Salah in the farewell to Goodison Park.
Southampton just got five put past them at home by a very good Chelsea team. Now they’ll have to travel to Villa Park and take on Aston Villa.
I’m expecting a similar result to the Chelsea one here, so we’ll take the same bet.
Aston Villa to win by two or more goals
Man City look like they’ve got their grove back with a 3-0 home win over Nottingham Forest.
If Pep has figured things out the rest of the league could be in trouble. The lowest they’ve from to win the league is 8th so you can never count them out.
Palace had a 1-0 win over Ipswich but I don’t see them having too much success this weekend.
Brentford were beaten convincingly over the week by Aston Villa. When they face the bigger clubs they’ve struggled to keep up, unfortunately for them, Newcastle just put three past the league leaders and probably could’ve had all three points if not for a disallowed goal.
Newcastle do have to travel but I think they’ll be feeling like they can be one of the best teams and should be able to take care of the Bees this weekend.
Back-to-back games in Manchester for the Trees. Losing 3-0 at the Etihad they now head to Old Trafford to take on the Red Devils.
This is one United fans will be expecting to win and if Amorim wants to get the fans in behind him he’ll need a result here.
Chris Wood and his side will be after a bounce back performance and I imagine they will be focusing on tightening up their defensive line.
A huge win for the Cottagers will boost their confidence ahead of their fixture against the Gunners who will also be very happy with their performance during the week.
Corner kicks for the Gunners is almost like a spot kick for them.
I’m expecting an entertaining game but Arsenal are rolling once again and should be too good at the Craven Cottage on Monday morning.
Two polar-opposite feelings for these two teams after their mid-week fixtures.
For Leicester, a great 3-1 win of West Ham but for Brighton, well they dropped more points losing 3-1 to Fulham.
The Seagulls were up and down throughout November but still find themselves in 5th spot.
I didn’t back Leicester against the Hammers but I’m going to here as Brighton continue on their roadie.
Ipswich failed to score at home against Crystal Palace and now they’ll host Bournemouth who come of their 1-0 home win over Spurs.
A 1-0 scoreline was an unusual result for both of these sides who have seen the majority of games had both teams scoring.
It could be due to the high intensity schedule and not a lot of recovery time. I think we’re in for a low scoring contest but not because it’ll be tightly contested.
Once again I can’t bring myself to back Spurs, there is just no consistency with them. Losing 1-0 to Bournemouth and they’re without the usual centre back pairings.
Chelsea are proving they’re here to stay. After a hot start they’ve been able to continue their form and finally, all that money they spent on players might be starting to work out.
Now that they have a solid XI that they can rely on they’ve been able to play that high level of football more consistently. They’ve been beating teams and beating them well.
Wolves centre back Craig Dawson found himself on the wrong side of the score sheet not once, but twice in their 4-0 defeat to Everton.
They need a win badly but they don’t help themselves.
I liked West Ham against Leicester but they didn’t show up. This time they’re at home and taking on a struggling side.
This could be the last time I back them if they fail to pull through but I’m giving West Ham one more chance.
