Thursday Night Football can normally be a bit of a drag, but this matchup is far from it. The Chicago Bears and Caleb Williams host the Patriots at Soldier Field in an upper-echelon clash.
For mine, I’m constantly buying into the hype around Caleb Williams, who I’d describe as the fourth-best quarterback in the league. This showdown with his fellow draftee, Drake Maye, will certainly be an intriguing watch, but I think Williams and the Bears will make most of the noise in prime time.
Tips
Best: Caleb Williams 250+ Passing Yards @ $1.98
Anytime Touchdown Scorer: Luther Burden $2.80
SGM: Caleb Williams 250+ Passing Yards, Luther Burden ATS and A.J. Brown 50+ Receiving Yards @ $5.87
The next game on the international slate sees the Steelers head to the City of Love to take on the New Orleans Saints in the first NFL game to be played in France.
The Steelers are coming into this one as favourites, and it’s understandable, as they’ve found their mojo a little bit offensively. They’re riding the momentum of Jaylen Warren, who is quickly making himself one of the best backs in the league. Alongside him is the emergence of rookie wideout Germie Bernard, who, after scoring his maiden touchdown last weekend, will look to add another to his tally this week.
Tips
Best: Pittsburgh Steelers (-3.5) @ $1.98
Anytime Touchdown Scorer: Germie Bernard @ $3.25
SGM: Pittsburgh Steelers (-3.5), Germie Bernard ATS and Chris Olave 70+ Receiving Yards @ $8.32
The Texans are looking like they’re starting to turn their season around after heading to London and beating a Jaguars team that I think is one of the best outfits in the league.
The Giants are turning to third year signal caller JJ McCarthy to lead their offence. He’ll make his first start in a Giants uniform against the likes of Will Anderson and the dominant Texans defence.
For mine, it’s a step too far for the Giants, and I think the Texans will continue to build on their back to back wins.
Tips
Best: Houston Texans (-10.5) @ $1.92
Anytime Touchdown Scorer: Nico Collins @ $3.05
SGM: Houston Texans (-10.5), Nico Collins ATS and Over 43 Total Points @ $5.11
An outstanding NFC North showdown headlines the 9 am slate, with the Lions hosting the Packers, who seem to have found a little something over the last couple of weeks.
While these two sides might not be the dominant units they were 12 to 18 months ago, there’s still plenty of talent on both teams, making for an enjoyable watch.
For mine, both offences can do damage in different ways, and this could be a slightly higher-scoring game than expected.
Tips
Best: Over 53.5 Total Points @ $1.90
Anytime Touchdown Scorer: Brock Bowers @ $2.90
SGM: Over 53.5 Total Points, Matthew Golden ATS and Amon-Ra St Brown ATS @ $5.43
I get that home-field advantage is real in the NFL, especially at a place like Lumen Field, but there’s no doubt Sam Darnold hasn’t been as good as he was last year. Patrick Mahomes and Kenneth Walker have formed one of the most dynamic backfields in the NFL.
The Chiefs have everything at their disposal, with a very big menu of options on their play sheet. Even against this juiced-up Seahawks defence, I think they can get the job done.
Tips
Best: Kansas City Chiefs To Win @ $2.15
Anytime Touchdown Scorer: Kenneth Walker @ $1.78
SGM: Kansas City Chiefs To Win, Kenneth Walker ATS and Patrick Mahomes 20+ Passing Completions @ $5.31
This isn’t quite the game the schedule-makers would have predicted when they released the calendar, with the Eagles not being the powerhouse many expected and the Cowboys failing to click through the early part of the season.
After being out and out embarrassed in prime time last time out, the Cowboys need to win this game. There’s no two ways about it, which is why I have them handling business on the road in the City of Brotherly Love.
Tips
Best: Dallas Cowboys (-4.5) @ $1.92
Anytime Touchdown Scorer: Saquon Barkley @ $1.95
SGM: Dallas Cowboys (-4.5), Saquon Barkley ATS and CeeDee Lamb ATS @ $8.53
