World Cup Best Bets | Day 13: Wednesday 24 June

Archie Wilson shares his picks and plays for Day 13 of the World Cup.

Portugal
vs
Uzbekistan
5:00am Wednesday
Over 2.5 Total Goals @ $1.53

The morning starts with Portugal looking to bounce back after their disastrous opening draw against DR Congo, in which none of their stars looked like the players they have shown they can be at stages of their careers. Instead, they looked like a side that needed to gel, and quickly, if they were to have any chance of getting to where they need to go.

For Uzbekistan, they were handed the only loss in the group as they took on Colombia and came up well short in an affair that was dominated by the South Americans. The problem with that is it’s not going to get any easier against Portugal, a side that should handle them comfortably.

Tips

Best Bet: Over 2.5 Total Goals @ $1.53
Best Goalscorer: Pedro Neto ATS @ $2.90
Same Game Multi: Over 2.5 Total Goals + Pedro Neto To Score Or Assist + Bernado Silva To Score Or Assist @ $3.42

England
vs
Ghana
8:00am Wednesday
England 3-1 @ $12.50

England had one of the best halves of football I have seen in a long time from the Three Lions in their opener, and if they are able to emulate that level of performance, they are going to be nothing short of a problem for all teams in the competition. This one against Ghana should, in theory, be an easier clash than Croatia, but if they fall into their complacent ways, the African side could certainly cause some trouble.

For Tuchel, the key to his side becoming a well-oiled machine is Jude Bellingham being the level of player we know he can be. He started off well with a goal, and a tidy one at that, against Croatia, and it would not be a surprise to see him bag another one against Ghana.

Tips

Best Bet: England 3-1 @ $12.50
Best Goalscorer: Jude Bellingham ATS @ $2.30
Same Game Multi: Jude Bellingham ATS + Over 2.5 Total Goals @ $3.68

Panama
vs
Croatia
11:00am Wednesday
Luka Modrić to Score or Assist @ $2.30

Must-win game for Croatia here, as they dropped the first game of their tournament to England in rather emphatic fashion and don’t look like the side that has reached World Cup finals in the past.

Panama were also a side that looked a little out of their depth against Ghana and can expect an uphill battle in this one against the former European powerhouse, who still has their midfield general, Luka Modrić, at the heart of their side. Is the former Real Madrid man enough to propel Croatia deep in the tournament? I’m not so sure anymore, but he can certainly dominate against a side like Panama.

Tips

Best Bet: Luka Modrić to Score or Assist @ $2.30
Best Goalscorer: Petar Musa ATS @ $2.25
Betcha Boost: Luka Modrić to Score or Assist & Croatia Win to Nil @ $5.00

Colombia
vs
DR Congo
2:00pm Wednesday
Colombia To Win @ $1.55

DR Congo shocked the world with their draw against tournament hotshot Portugal in the first game, where they made the Portuguese attack look ordinary, and keep in mind, that is a star-studded unit.

On paper, it is an easier opponent in their second game coming up against Colombia, but the South American side, with plenty of World Cup experience, are dangerous and also have a few game breakers of their own. The likes of Luis Diaz and James Rodriguez still spearhead this side and should be more than enough firepower to get up in this one against DR Congo if they turn up on the day, unlike Portugal.

Tips

Best Bet: Colombia To Win @ $1.55
Best Goalscorer: Luis Diaz ATS @ $2.50
Same Game Multi: Colombia To Win + Luis Diaz ATS + Under 2.5 Total Goals @ $6.62
