Archie Wilson shares his picks and plays for Day 10 of the World Cup.
A clash of a couple of European nations to open up Sunday’s action, and it no doubt should be a very interesting clash.
For me, the Netherlands are no longer this powerhouse side, as they have slowly moved on from what could be described as their golden generation. For Sweden, they are entering this tournament with a team that I feel is their best for a long time, led by the likes of Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres.
With that tandem up front, it does feel like Sweden can trouble any defence at this tournament, even one anchored by a legend like Virgil van Dijk.
Tips
Best Bet: Draw @ $3.75
Best Goalscorer: Alexander Isak ATS @ $3.20
Same Game Multi: Draw + Alexander Isak To Score Or Assist + Under 2.5 Total Goals @ $14.62
Game two is another beauty, with Germany coming off a 7-1 win to open their campaign as they face off with the Ivory Coast, who stole a win in the waning moments against Ecuador.
Entering this one, Germany are understandably heavy favourites, essentially because their team is littered with elite talent, and the Ivory Coast, in their own right, have some serious quality, but not in the same volume Germany have.
One of those quality players is potentially a 100 million pound winger, Yan Diomonde, who had Hincapie of Ecuador in a bind all game long, and I would expect him to be a difference maker if Ivory Coast are to keep it close.
Tips
Best Bet: Yan Diomande 2+ Shots @ $1.60
Best Goalscorer: Florian Wirtz ATS @ $3.00
Same Game Multi: Over 2.5 Total Goals + Yan Diomande 2+ Shots + Aleksandar Pavlovic 70+ Passes @ $3.12
As mentioned, Ecuador endured a bit of heartbreak in the opener, losing to Ivory Coast, but luckily for them they have a game against Curaçao in which they should be able to right the ship.
Now that’s not to say Curaçao can’t make some noise, but the fact Ecuador have so many of their heavy hitters on the defensive side of the field means it might be tough going for the Blue Wave to find the back of the net.
Tips
Best Bet: Ecuador/Ecuador @ $1.40
Best Goalscorer: Gonzalo Plata ATS @ $2.25
Betcha Boost: Over 2.5 Total Goals + Gonzalo Plata ATS + Moises Caicedo 85+ Passes @ $4.32
Japan were very good in their opener against the aforementioned Netherlands, where yes they conceded two, but also managed to find the back of the net a couple of times against a good defence.
Tunisia, on the other hand, looked out of their depth against Sweden, where they shipped five goals and were under constant siege, and the worry for them will be that it could certainly be the case again against Japan, who will be eyeing their first three points of the tournament.
Tips
Best Bet: Japan To Win @ $1.53
Best Goalscorer: Ayase Ueda ATS @ $2.50
Same Game Multi: Ayase Ueda ATS + Under 2.5 Total Goals + Japan To Win @ $7.08
