Samoa and France go head to head in Round 1 of the Rugby League World Cup at CommBank Stadium in Sydney on Friday 16 October, kicking off at 7:45pm NZDT. Our Samoa vs France prediction and betting tips are below.
Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow is a surprise selection at fullback this week and I’m tipping him to play more of a distributing role in Samoa’s attack.
The Hammer had a season-high 49 receipts in Redcliffe’s preliminary final loss to play on the ball and link the ruck with the edges. He’s typically done his best work supporting off the ball but it was a good look for Hammer and the Dolphins in that game and I’m keeping an eye out for more of the same here.
Setting up in good-ball, expect Chanel Harris-Tavita to command plenty of touches down his left edge. Coming off a career-year for the Wahs as their most consistent playmaker, Harris-Tavita might have the #6 on his back this week but I won’t be surprised if he’s just as busy as his halves partner.
For that reason, I’m looking left for points.
