There’s not much love getting around for England right now but I won’t be surprised if they spring a few upsets this series.
Tonga first up presents a stern challenge though; an elite middle forward rotation and a first-class halfback give the Tongans a winning recipe on paper but this English side relish the grind and the underdog tag they bring into this series.
Expect Tonga to start fast and look to run away with it. Between Haumole Olakau’atu and Robert Toia, there’s a lot to like about that Tongan right edge but the points might end up coming on the far side of the field after the damage has been done on the right.
If England can weather the storm early though and settle the game into a grind, I like them to finish strongest.
