We have Thousand Guineas tips and predictions for the Group 1 1600m race at Caulfield on Saturday.
Thousand Guineas odds have an even betting market, so punters get value odds across the board.
Pretty Baby gets the nod as our best bet after putting together an excellent preparation heading into the Thousand Guineas. She’s won three races in a row before finishing second in the Listed Jim Moloney Stakes at Caulfield, where she was beaten by Regal Ambition.
That latest run was still a good effort, and there’s every reason to think she can bounce back. She’s already shown she handles Caulfield, while the step up to 1600m gives her another chance to prove herself over a longer trip.
Damian Lane takes the ride from barrier 5, which looks ideal. He should be able to settle her in a comfortable position and avoid getting caught too far back when the pace lifts.
Her odds have drifted to $8.50, which is a great price for a promising type.

The Ciaron Maher-trained filly has won both of her career starts, including the Group 3 Scarborough Stakes at Moonee Valley. She’s shown a sharp turn of foot in those performances, and there could still be plenty of improvement to come as she steps up in distance.
Mark Zahra takes the ride, and he’ll need to produce his best from a wide barrier. However, Zahra rides his best during the Melbourne Spring Carnival, and he could pull off a good ride on Saturday.
Unbeaten fillies always attract attention in betting markets, and she has remained firm at $5.50. That’s a good sign, and she is good enough to be included in our Thousand Guineas predictions.

De Armas isn’t paying massive odds, but we can’t leave the former Kiwi runner out of our selections.
The Chris Waller-trained runner finished second in the Group 1 Flight Stakes over 1600m at Randwick, beaten narrowly by Global Goal. That performance is an important form reference, as she has already demonstrated that she can handle the mile against quality opposition.
William Pike takes the ride from barrier 7, which is a solid draw. He can look for cover early and aim to have her building momentum before the field straightens.
The challenge is reproducing her Sydney form at Caulfield, especially against fillies who have been racing well in Melbourne. However, her Group 1 placing gives her a strong foundation.

Punters get value odds with our Thousand Guineas SRM, which includes our three selected runners.
We have Pretty Baby Top 3, Over the Bridge Top 3, and De Armas Top 4, which pays $20.00 for our three-runner SRM.
Those are big odds for including our three runners in a same-race multi, and we’re happy to take the risk considering the potential payout for the Thousand Guineas.
