Just a scintillating matchup between two sides with plenty of dislike for each other on Thursday Night Football, as the Steelers travel to Cleveland to take on the Browns.
Both sides, somewhat surprisingly, enter the game 2-1 on the season and will be looking to move to the top of the AFC North table with a win.
For mine, there’s no doubt the Steelers are the more talented side, but that shouldn’t come as a surprise when comparing them with a Browns team that has been starved of consistent performers outside of Myles Garrett over the past couple of years.
For this game, I’m thinking we should expect the unexpected. When it comes to AFC North football, random things always happen. So, while I’m expecting this to be a defensive showcase, a couple of high-end contributors from both teams might just make a few plays.
Tips
Best: DK Metcalf Over 3.5 Receptions @ $1.72
Anytime Touchdown Scorer: Jaylen Warren @ $1.94
SGM: DK Metcalf Over 3.5 Receptions, Jaylen Warren ATS and Denzel Boston 40+ Receiving Yards @ $5.80
Two high-powered offences go head to head on Monday morning, with Trevor Lawrence and the Jags taking on Joey B and the Bengals.
It’s certainly a game the neutrals will have circled, with two of the NFL’s best gunslingers going head to head, and both seem to be in mid-season form already.
However, the game isn’t just about the two signal-callers, with both sides boasting an abundance of talent across their rosters, including Ja’Marr Chase for the Bengals and Parker Washington and Travon Walker for the Jags.
Looking at how both teams have been operating early in the season, it feels like the Jags might have found their identity earlier, which is why I wouldn’t be surprised if they were the ones leaving with a win in the column.
Tips
Best: Jacksonville Jaguars To Win @ $2.20
Anytime Touchdown Scorer: Parker Washington @ $2.55
SGM: Jacksonville Jaguars To Win, Ja’Marr Chase ATS and Parker Washington ATS @ $9.95
No one would have thought, looking at this game on the schedule, that both teams would have winning records, let alone be unbeaten.
This is a massive test for the Raiders, as they’re coming up against a juggernaut in the Kansas City Chiefs. With Eric Bieniemy back and Kenneth Walker added to the fold, the Chiefs have become a multi-phase attack.
That’s why I feel the Chiefs will be too much for the Raiders to handle. The Raiders have been impressive, but they haven’t dominated in a way that makes me comfortable backing them at home.
Tips
Best: Kansas City Chiefs (-4.5) @ $1.92
Anytime Touchdown Scorer: Travis Kelce @ $2.55
SGM: Kansas City Chiefs (-4.5), Travis Kelce ATS and Over 47.5 Total Points @ $6.20
Sunday Night Football provides us with an intriguing clash between the Carolina Panthers and Detroit Lions, with prime-time regular-season football returning to Carolina for the first time in over a decade.
The Panthers have been at the bottom of the barrel in the NFL for a while, but perhaps, with Bryce Young, they’ve found a guy who could navigate them out of the doldrums.
On the other side of this clash are the Lions, who were once in the same position as the Panthers but managed to claw their way out. They’re now expected to be a team that makes playoff runs year in, year out.
When looking at this game as a whole, there are issues both sides need to fix on their rosters. Most of them have to do with the teams’ defences, which is why I can see this one going over the points total.
Tips
Best: Over 51 Total Points @ $1.92
Anytime Touchdown Scorer: Amon-Ra St. Brown @ $1.85
SGM: Over 51 Total Points, Amon-Ra St. Brown ATS and Bryce Young 250+ Passing Yards
@ $4.61
These two teams have been viewed as young sides with plenty of young talent, but injuries and other factors have kept them from getting over the hump for a couple of years.
The key for both franchises is their “young” quarterbacks, by NFL standards, Tyler Shough and Michael Penix. Both are already over 26, but despite injuries during their college careers, they’ve shown promise this season.
Monday Night Football will play host to the battle between these two. While it might not look like a particularly exciting prime-time matchup, I could see some fireworks going off.
Tips
Best: Tyler Shough 250+ Passing Yards @ $1.75
Anytime Touchdown Scorer: Chris Olave @ $2.20
SGM: Tyler Shough 250+ Passing Yards, Chris Olave ATS and Bijan Robinson 90+ Rushing Yards @ $6.18
