We have Epsom Handicap tips and predictions for the Group 1 1600m race at Randwick on Saturday.
Epsom Handicap odds have Kiwi mare Well Written and Autumn Boy favoured to win, in what should be an epic edition of the Randwick mile.
The unbeaten Kiwi mare hasn’t been treated well in the weights at 55kg, which is a bit of a rort. However, we all know that she has the class to beat this field, and she’s our top pick to show the Aussies a thing or two.
Trained by Stephen Marsh, the 4YO has been all before her, including Belle Cheval, who could subsequently win a Group 1 in Australia before being retired, so the form across the Tasman checks out.
Her turn-of-foot is something spectacular, and replacing Matt Cartwright with Zac Lloyd shouldn’t deter punters. Lloyd is a young gun, and he should get all favours from barrier 3. That makes her the horse to beat, and after opening at $5, her odds firmed almost immediately.

Autumn Boy has the form on the board in Australia, and he comes off a second placing behind Sheza Alibi, which is some of the best form going around.
He’s also much better suited at the weights with only 55.5kg on his back, so despite being a Group 1 winning male, he carries only a half-kilo more than Well Written, which doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.
Regardless, it makes Autumn Boy a must-include with Epsom Handicap predictions. He’ll get a dream run from barrier 1, and James McDonald has been talking a big game in reference to his chances of beating the Kiwi.

If any runner has been treated well with the handicapper, it’s Ceolwulf. He’s a winner of over $10 million, and he should give punters a good sight on Saturday.
He might be aimed at the King Charles or Cox Plate later this spring, but his class is enough to take him close. He chased Autumn Glow and Aeliana home last start, and he’s a four-time winner over the distance.
He has carried 59kg at his last three starts, so he’s no stranger to the big weight, and carrying only 4kg more than Well Written is a steal. That’s why we’re including him in our Epsom Handicap tips as a value bet.

Punters get value odds with our Epsom Handicap SRM, which includes our three selected runners.
We have Well Written Top 2, Autumn Boy Top 3, and Ceolwulf Top 5, which pays $12.50 for our three-runner SRM.
The race should be dominated by the favourites. There are some smart types outside of them in the market, but Well Written and Autumn Boy have drawn perfectly, so they could fight out the finish. Ceolwulf is the best value at double-figure odds, and he can boost SRM payouts.
