The US Open tennis continues with Round 2 action on Thursday, and we have US Open Round 2 tips.
Our US Open tips today highlight four of the best matches, and the latest US Open tennis odds are available now.
Denis Shapovalov got his 2026 US Open campaign off to a strong start, comfortably seeing off Miomir Kecmanovic in the opening round. The Canadian dropped just one set and looked in control for most of the match.
While Shapovalov’s form has been inconsistent at times, there’s no doubt he has the talent and experience to win.
His next challenge is Luca Van Assche. The young Frenchman has earned plenty of respect, but we’re backing Shapovalov to come through. His greater experience on the Grand Slam stage, particularly in pressure-filled matches, should help.
Shapovalov is priced at $1.68 to win, and the -2.5 game spread is worth including in US Open Round 2 predictions.
Both Jiri Lehecka and Toby Samuel made winning starts at the US Open, but it was Samuel who caught our attention. The British player produced an excellent performance to dispatch Tomas Machac in straight sets.
We backed Machac in the opening round, but Samuel quickly proved to be the better player. He controlled the match against the higher-ranked opponent and never looked troubled.
Lehecka was also tested in his opener against Pablo Carreno Busta. Although he advanced, he was forced to play an extra set and came through a physically demanding contest.
Our US Open Round 2 tips have Samuel winning, but take the insurance with the +4.5 start.
Jessica Pegula and Sofia Kenin meet in an all-American second-round matchup, and we’re expecting a more competitive contest than the odds suggest.
Kenin hasn’t enjoyed much success recently, but she made a solid start to the tournament. Against a heavy favourite like Pegula, she should still have enough to stay competitive and avoid being blown away in either set.
The play we like is over 17.5 total games, with Pegula tipped to win 6-3, 6-3. That projected scoreline is enough to land the over 17.5 games line, and we only need Kenin to play well to cash.
Pegula should have the quality to advance as the short favourite, but we’re banking on a competitive affair at the US Open.
Jasmine Paolini is a strong player. She was ranked inside the Top 10, but she’s still right around the mark at #21. That should be enough to get her past Lucrezia Stefanini, who doesn’t have the same credentials, and she should be happy just to make it through to Round 2.
Stefanini is a $2.65 chance to win outright, but we don’t see much value in that option. Paolini could dominate the game from the outset, and if she’s anywhere near her best, she could blow her countrywoman off the court.
The $2.02 odds for a 2-0 win are worth including in US Open tips today.
