With just one win from eight games played, Cronulla are undoubtedly the biggest disappointments of NRLW season 2026. Injuries have played a part but while there’s always been enough quality on the field each week, Cronulla’s illdiscipline has been their undoing.
New Zealand have been similarly inconsistent this season; as to expect from a completely new football side. They’ve felt the pinch of a skinny roster at different times (including this week) but there’s enough between Gayle Broughton and Mele Hufanga to win this for the Wahs.
They’ve played their best footy this year at home and only need to be somewhere near that to beat this Sharks side.

This Roosters powerhouse keeps on keeping on, racking up another 36 points against Cronulla last week. The premiership feels more inevitable with every week and North Queensland pose another chance for Easts to work through the gears.
The Cowboys have impressed to make genuine improvements on the run this year but it’s difficult to see them going with Sydney for long in this one.
Once fatigue sets in and this monster Easts forward rotation starts rolling downfield, the Cowboys line will either shrink or split and Tarryn Aiken will be there to punish it.

Canterbury were up for it early last week, cashing in first against Wests before falling away late. It’s a bit of a theme across the NRL and the NRLW right now; the best teams are those who can keep the pace once fatigue sets in and Newcastle have repeatedly proven they can do just that across eight games to date.
While Georgia Roche continues to go underrated as an elite running half on the left edge, Kirra Dibb is kicking, passing and pointing the Knights into positive field position across 70 minutes.
The looks both halves are earning for strike centres Tenika Willison and Sidney Taylor proved the difference in a big win last week and can be again in this one.

Brisbane enjoyed some luck off the kickoff last week to score the fastest ever NRLW try through Jada Ferguson, but their next 38 points were far less flukey.
Ali Brigginshaw’s return inspired an immediate response from the Broncos who looked more purposeful and controlled in attack while Julia Robinson’s return to the wing was another enlightened move from Brisbane’s coaching staff.
With the Broncos getting the best out of their best players last week, the points slowly piled up and they can do similar things to a young Dragons squad here.
St George banked an important win against New Zealand to keep them off the bottom of the NRLW ladder last week but can’t expect Brisbane to gift them the same favours the Wahs did.
Jaime Millard can enjoy another few highlight reel moments on the left wing here but this is Brisbane’s to win.

Three late consolation tries made things look tighter than they were last week for the Titans, who were always in control v Canberra on Saturday.
The Gold Coast are now comfortably the second-best team in the competition and look primed for a Grand Final clash with Easts. The only other team who could trouble them from here is Wests, making this a real Game of the Round candidate.
The one-two punch of Salma Nour and Faythe Manera gives the Tigers a constant running threat out of dummy-half while Raecene McGregor and Losana Lutu play the edges. Like the Titans, this Wests attack has plenty of avenues to the tryline this season.
It’s defence that will decide this game, and any potential rematch in the approaching finals series.

This Parramatta side is far better than their two-and-seven record suggests but time has run out for NRLW season 2026. Elsie Albert and Rory Owen are two of the best in their respective positions but the Eels have been far too inconsistent around them to be a force this year..
In contrast, the Raiders are repeatedly getting more out of their best players and profile well to work through the gears in this one.
Zahara Temara is playing out a career year for Canberra at halfback while Krystal Blackwell and Sheriden Gallagher take plenty of pressure off her as running foils in the spine. I like the Raiders to win the middle and strip the Eels from there.
