Both of these sides came through dramatic Round of 32 matches. Canada edged past South Africa, and Morocco won on penalties, sending the Dutch home.
Morocco will be eager to show that their 2022 run was no fluke, and in my view they were the better side in their first knockout game. They extended their unbeaten run to 33 matches, which in the groups included a 1-1 draw with Brazil as well as wins over Haiti and Scotland.
Canada were held by Bosnia-Herzegovina and lost to Switzerland in the groups, and unfortunately for the hosts, this, for me, is where their tournament ends.
The African side are disciplined and have plenty of emerging talents in Ayyoub Bouaddi, Bilal El Khannouss and Ismael Saibari, who has three goals in four matches this tournament. The young talent is well complemented by the quality and experience of Achraf Hakimi and Brahim Diaz.
This is a nation packed with energy and quality, who will flood forward in search of goals, and they outplayed the Netherlands at times in that match.
