Personally, I would expect they can. Portugal are certainly a team with the kind of players who can take them all the way to the promised land, and it’s just about gelling in the right way. For them, that process starts now, and after one of the game’s greats, Cristiano Ronaldo, just watched his biggest ever competitor Lionel Messi bag a hat-trick, I have a good feeling the leader of this Portugal side will be hungry for his side to make a statement.

Could it truly be coming home?

The European side are one of those teams that constantly bat above their weight on the world stage, and even with their golden generation slowly moving on, they will pose the biggest threat to England in the group stage.
For me, this one screams of a cage fight, with both teams likely happy enough with a draw considering the landscape of their pool. Throw in the fact England are generally slow starters, sharing the points is a real possibility tomorrow morning.
