Super Bowl Preview & Best Bets

The stage is now set for Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, with the New England Patriots getting ready to face off against the Seattle Seahawks in the Bay Area. It may still be over a week away, but we are already itching to crack into some Super Bowl content, and I thought there was no better way to kick things off than with an early betting preview.

We can dive into some of the initial lines and prop bets that are already available and see what piques our interest with more than a week of preparation still to go.

Seattle Seahawks (-4.5) @ $1.87

I will be honest, I did not think the Seahawks would be all that special, even finishing as the one seed in the NFC. If you followed my work over the past week or so, you would be well aware that I was picking the Rams at just about every opportunity.

The Seahawks showed why they are not only one of the best defences in the league, but also an offence that can rip apart opposition in the playoffs. The side that will need to combat the well oiled machine of the Seahawks are the Patriots, who in their own right have a very strong defensive unit and, once again, one of the best quarterbacks in the league Drake Maye.

The question we have to ask is whether Drake Maye, and his lack of top tier weapons, can score enough against one of the league’s best defences to keep pace with a red hot Seahawks offence. From where we stand right now, this is not the Tom Brady Patriots who always found a way, and because of that, give me the Seahawks to cover the spread.

Kenneth Walker Anytime Touchdown Scorer @ $1.62

After almost being put on the back burner in terms of volume earlier this season, the breakout of Kenneth Walker has been rather special. He is quickly becoming one of the better backs in the league, with his elite combination of acceleration and ability to make people miss making him a nightmare for opponents. Over the last two games, Walker has gone for 180 rushing yards and four touchdowns, showing he can truly be the lead back on a Super Bowl worthy team.

In the Super Bowl, I think the Seahawks might learn from the last regime that made the Super Bowl against this exact franchise and choose to run the ball on the goal line. If they can learn from those blunders and Walker continues his current form, I think he has a great chance to find the end zone.

Cooper Kupp Over 3.5 Receptions | $2.50

In big moments, the Seahawks have very much relied on their leading playmakers to get the ball in their hands and make a difference. Of course, when you think of Seahawks receivers, Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the first name that comes to mind. However, the guy I am picking to have a solid day is Cooper Kupp.

The Seahawks’ number two is one of those players who has been there and done that on the biggest stage, already having a Super Bowl MVP under his belt. I understand he is no longer the dynamic lead wideout he once was, but in big games like the Super Bowl, it is all about execution. For Kupp, that is exactly what he is known for, as he moves the chains, rarely misses an assignment, and catches everything that comes his way.

For the profile of player he is and the experience he brings, I have him going over his receptions mark.

SGM @ $13.26

To end, let’s spare the ramble and crack straight into the selections for our Super Bowl Same Game Multi. Off the top, we have Rhamondre Stevenson with 20 plus receiving yards in this one. The reason being, he has become the most trusted player out of the backfield for Drake Maye, and with this being the biggest game of Maye’s career, I would expect him to lean on some easy buttons.

A bit further on Maye, in the playoffs teams have been trying to take away his deep ball and ability to throw strikes, which has allowed him to use his legs more often. At this stage of his career, Maye is certainly athletic enough to make you pay, and I do not mind him going over 30 plus yards on the ground.

Moving over to the other side, I have already discussed why Cooper Kupp could be in for a big day, and I am doubling down on him for the Same Game Multi. Because of his ability to create quick separation and be quarterback friendly, I think Kupp is a genuine outside shout for a touchdown.

To tie this one up, as I have been doing in a lot of my recent tips, the overs seem like a decent play in this game. When you look at the two sides, most people will think about their defences, and that certainly makes sense. However, when it comes to the Super Bowl, crazy stuff tends to happen, and I think there could be some major missed assignments on either side due to the occasion

  • Rhamondre Stevenson 20+ Receiving Yards @ $1.42
  • Drake May 30+ Rushing yards @ $1.60
  • Cooper Kupp Anytime Touchdown @ $3.75
  • Over 45.5 Total Points @ $1.85
