The EPL run in is nearing and each game means just a little bit more as we get into the business end of the season.
The question is how each team will handle that pressure and what it will cause in terms of changes in results. As we have done for most of the season, we have provided our own two cents prior to the slate on how we think it could play out, so why not give it another crack heading into Matchweek 28.

We kick off the weekend’s slate with the head-to-head bet of the week as Aston Villa travel to Wolverhampton to face a Wolves side that is certainly no pushover after their early-season disaster.
For Villa, this game is critical, with a couple of teams really bearing down on them in the league table. With injuries hindering their squad, they have a lot to be wary of. This weekend’s match against Wolves gives them a massive opportunity to secure some points on the road against a side that, while stronger recently, can still be beaten at home.
Given the level of intensity I expect from Villa, I think there’s a real chance they come away with the full points haul and hold off the chasing pack for another weekend.

Going a bit astray on this one, as we generally back a goal scorer from a “bigger” club to get the job done. But this weekend, I’m backing one of Bournemouth’s budding stars, Eli Junior Kroupi. The young French false nine/inside forward has been a revelation for the Cherries at times this year, entering a game against a Sunderland side that just conceded three goals at their home fortress.
The problem for Sunderland is that their away form has generally been much weaker than their home form, meaning being on the road doesn’t bode well for a bounce back. If that’s the case, I expect Eli Junior Kroupi to be in the thick of it and have chances fall his way.

A huge, huge London derby with so much at stake for both sides this weekend. Chelsea have just set four points alight in the league and are now locked in fifth on the Premier League table. For their cross-town rivals Arsenal, they are inching closer to a Premier League title but can’t really afford a slip-up in the last couple of months of the season.
This is where Chelsea will try to step in and ruin the party for their foes. This weekend at the Emirates, they have a real opportunity to throw a spanner in Mikel Arteta’s plans. Now, the separate question is: can Chelsea get the job done? Based on two recent draws, you wouldn’t say they should be feeling confident. Throw in the fact they are winless in nine games against Arsenal, and this looks even more farfetched.
However, at $5, thinking a squad with the quality of Chelsea can’t produce a great 90-minute display against Arsenal would just be disingenuous, which is why they’re my underdog bet for the week.

Righto, I’ll finally believe that Man United might really be coming back into the upper echelon of Premier League teams. This weekend, they have a real chance to prove it against a stingy Crystal Palace side fresh off a decent result.
For the same game multi, I’m heavy on the United side of things, starting with their super-sub Benjamin Šeško to get a shot on target. He has come off the bench a few times and managed to find his way onto the scoresheet, so seeing Carrick turn to the young striker in the second half wouldn’t be a surprise.
Moving onto the next leg, both sides are used to low-scoring affairs, and I think this one could follow a similar script to what we saw in United’s last two games, with goals being at a premium.
Finally, I think United can get the job done at home. It might be 1-0 or maybe 2-0, but they have enough momentum to ride the wave in front of the Old Trafford faithful and secure another three-point haul come Monday morning.
