EPL Matchweek 27 Preview

EPL Matchweek 27 Preview

Another week of Champions League is in the books, and we are coming up on a very important slate of EPL action. As we have done throughout this season, we are going to continue to look for value across the kingdom’s top flight football league.

Outside of that I’m not sure there’s much else to say, so let’s just get stuck in

Best Head-to-Head Bet

👇
Brentford
vs
Brighton & Hove Albion
4:00 AM Sunday | Brentford Community Stadium
Brentford To Win @ $2.00

Brentford have been one of the most consistent Premier League sides this year and have done so despite having most of their key players and staff from last season prised away from them. They have become a genuine Premier League upper mid table side, and this weekend they are set to host the lads from the southernmost point of England.

Like Brentford, Brighton have also seen success from their advanced analytics and scouting team, which has helped them develop some of the Premier League’s most exciting talents. This season, though, they are not in the European spots they have become used to, and this week presents a major opportunity to turn that around.

After watching Brentford’s performance against Arsenal last week, I do think there is real potency in their attack, with players like Igor Thiago and Kevin Schade forming one of the most prolific strike partnerships in the league. In this one, I think Brighton will offer a good fight, but Brentford, with their quality and defensive resilience, should be able to get the job done.

Best Anytime Goalscorer

👇
Chelsea
vs
Burnley
4:00 AM, Sunday | Stamford Bridge
Joao Pedro Anytime Goalscorer @ $2.05

Have Chelsea finally found a striker who can break the curse they have experienced in that position since Diego Costa? It may be too early to say that about João Pedro just yet but since Liam Rosenior became head coach in south west London, he has taken a massive step forward.

Pedro is a silky operator up top who is often described as more of a false nine, which allows him to link with Cole Palmer in deeper areas. However, while that might be the case, Rosenior has been positioning him as the central nine in this Chelsea attack to ensure he gets more service and increases his shot volume.

For Pedro, it has never been about ball striking because he is elite in that regard, but the volume has been the concern. In recent weeks, that volume has gone through the roof, with him scoring four goals in his last five Premier League games while also drawing three penalties, which shows the kind of dangerous areas he has been getting into.

This weekend against Burnley, I expect Chelsea’s attack to once again generate some very good chances and for Pedro to be one of the focal points, which is why I can see him scoring again.

Best Underdog Bet

👇
Tottenham Hotspur
vs
Arsenal
5:30 AM, Monday | Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Tottenham To Win | $5.75

The title race is heating up with 12 games left in the season and only five points separating Arsenal and Manchester City at this stage. The season was supposed to be somewhat of a breeze for Arsenal, who have led the competition for almost the entire campaign while the other clubs in the league continued to flounder and produce inconsistent results.

For Arsenal now though, they are beginning to experience some of those performances at the wrong time, leaving the door slightly ajar for City. The most recent example was the game against Wolves, where Arsenal were seemingly lucky to escape with a draw and ended up dropping points.

For me, this underdog bet is simply playing on the narrative that Arsenal may start to let the pressure get to them. It would be very Tottenham to be on the brink of relegation yet somehow upset their North London rivals during a title race. For that reason alone, and certainly not because of how Tottenham Hotspur have been playing, I think any slip from Arsenal gives Spurs at least the slightest chance.

Best Same Game Multi

👇
Everton FC
vs
Manchester United
9:00 AM, Tuesday | Hill Dickinson Stadium
SGM @ $2.64

The United strand had to keep his hair much to the demise of many and likely including myself, who wanted to see his hair finally get cut after the Red Devils had a draw against West Ham this past week. For the home side, Everton, they have two wins, two draws and one loss in their last five Premier League outings, which really is not too bad.

With both teams seemingly carrying some recent momentum, I think this could be quite the game. It is not just results but performances that have been trending upwards for these two clubs, which is why I think both teams could at least find their way onto the scoresheet.

That first leg of the multi this week ties nicely into this one because, with both teams scoring, I think this match could see a couple, if not more, hit the back of the net. With players like Benjamin Šeško, Bryan Mbeumo and Iliman Ndiaye on the pitch, there should be enough attacking quality to add goals to the scoreline.

Lastly, I am not completely sold on this United turnaround. It could simply be a manager bounce with club legend Michael Carrick back at the helm. That said, a decent manager bounce can last longer than five games, and with this being the sixth under Carrick, I would still expect them to take something from this one.
