Another week of European football flies on by, and we are coming up on the newest slate of EPL action. As we have done throughout this season, we are going to continue to look for value across the kingdom’s top flight football league.

After firing Ruben Amorim and appointing Michael Carrick as manager, Manchester United have been rolling, with a derby win over City followed by a 3–2 victory over Arsenal at the Emirates.
The question surrounding the Red Devils will be whether this is a manager bounce from having a club legend in the ears of the players, or if this is a truly sustainable level of play they can maintain after being one of the most inconsistent teams in the Premier League over the past 18 months.
For me, I am not certain on that answer, simply because I could talk myself into either side regarding United, as they are such a volatile club right now. However, this matchweek in the Premier League they take on Fulham, and whether this form is indeed just a bounce from bringing Carrick in as manager, I don’t think Fulham will be the team to undo that.

Chelsea are starting to pick up some form in recent weeks, with Liam Rosenior winning five of his first six games in charge of the London side. A lot of that form has to do with his lead striker, Joao Pedro, who in his last three games has scored four goals, with a couple of bangers along the way. What this proves about Pedro is that he clearly has the talent to be a true striker, but confidence is key for him, as he saw a dip in form earlier in the season when he may have lacked some.
Right now though, Pedro has it rolling, and taking on a West Ham side that will no doubt provide some chances for Chelsea at the Bridge, I would not be surprised to see him generate some goals or assists.

I was not a fan of many of the underdog bets this weekend, so I have gone big on the selection, because sometimes upsets are just hiding in plain sight. For this one, we are looking at a northern derby, or the Isak Bowl, as Newcastle are set to travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool.
Earlier in the season, you would have said Newcastle had a real chance to make some noise in this matchup. However, the form Liverpool have picked up over the last month has been far more steady than in the early part of the season. While that may be cause for concern when backing Newcastle, there is more than meets the eye in this game than just another mid-season Premier League fixture.
These two sides were locked in a battle all off-season for Newcastle’s former striker, Alexander Isak, which took almost the entire window to get done. In my mind, there has to be some kind of extra motivation for Newcastle, and creating an upset away from home would be the perfect revenge.

This one here is the biggest game on the ballot, with two of the traditional top-six clubs set to face off in North London. The sky blue of Man City will make the long trip from Manchester to the capital to play in the billion-pound stadium.
The problem for that stadium is that no matter what players they sign or who is in charge, the team can never quite live up to the expectations of the investment and the fans. The hope for Spurs is that they can carry over some of their Champions League form into the Prem, as after eight rounds of European football they currently sit in the top four.
In regards to City, right now they pose the biggest threat in chasing down Arsenal in the top flight, so continuing to close the gap on points adds extra onus to this one. For that reason alone, it feels like a game where Erling Haaland is going to make sure his presence is felt. He has cooled off in recent weeks, but not often does he go quiet for long, which is why I have him to score.
On the topic of goals, with both of these sides having susceptible defences and plenty of attacking talent on show, including the aforementioned Haaland, I do think in the match of the week there will not be a shortage of goals.
To ensure we get this one over the desired three legs, I am happy to dip into the match result market to close out. As mentioned, there is extra motivation on City’s end to make sure they stay in the title race, while Spurs have also struggled on home soil, which is why I am picking the away side.
