Week 9 of the A-League, and it’s a similar story for the two Kiwi teams… A Black Knights win and a Nix loss. Same from the punting front, another two winners for the games, and we just missed the multi by one leg.
Auckland FC are still on their road trip while Wellington stays at home. Let’s take a look.
Western Sydney failed to score against Brisbane last weekend but did manage to hold the Roar to a doughnut as well.
Auckland, though, have bounced back from that Jets loss two weeks ago with back-to-back wins, but it hasn’t been easy for them. They’ve not kept a clean sheet since October 25th.
It’s a stark contrast between these two sides. AFC has seen over 2.5 goals in five of their last six, while Western Sydney have seen under 2.5 goals in seven of their last eight.
I’ve found some value in Auckland scoring the first goal of the game. They’ve done so in their last six games, and Western Sydney have struggled to score at the best of times.
The Nix are not in a good spot, sitting second from the bottom with just two wins from eight games. Something needs to change.
They couldn’t take advantage last week against the Jets. They had plenty of good chances but struggled to defend. A five-minute lapse in concentration cost them.
Central Coast have also had a string of tough results.
These two sides have already met this year, ending in a 1-1 result. Eze scored then, and after watching them last week and seeing how many chances they produced, I think Eze can bag himself another.
