2020/21 New Zealand Jockey Premiership winner Danielle Johnson has provided us with her top bets to follow this weekend. Check them out below 👇
8 Amusement is racing well without much luck in strong company. Sectionals were excellent last start and while the favourite Casino maps very well, Amusement looks excellent value each way.
8. Amusement (5) J: Lynsey Satherley 56.5kg 4X157 T: Darryn & Briar Weatherley
5 Zormella just missed last time in very strong race. This field has depth, too, however she should be rock hard fit now and expect her to bounce back into the winners’ circle.
5. Zormella (11) J: Bruno Queiroz 57kg 2X002 T: Roger James & Robert Wellwood
9 Doddle is going a lot better than her form suggests. Last start was very encouraging, running similar sort of sectionals to smart performers Ladies Man and Meaningful Star at weight-for-age Group 2 level. Drops to the minimum weight in this handicap event and looks overs at each way money. Royal Flower also represents value as well so a saver on her.
9. Doddle (10) J: Courtney Barnes 53kg 7X005 T: Stephen Marsh
3 Myakkabelle performed well at a good level as a three-year-old. Solid efforts so far this campaign and stepping up in distance should suit. May just have a class edge on her rivals.
3. Myakkabelle (7) J: Vinnie Colgan 56.5kg 23X57 T: Ben & Ryan Foote
9 Too Darn Sweet has form around some nice horses. Only failure to date was in black type company and did too much work on speed that day. Looks extremely hard to beat here.
9. Too Darn Sweet (1) J: Sam Weatherley 55kg 202 T: Sam Mynott
6 Fosse was very unlucky in her last two starts and this looks an easier assignment. Don’t want a wet track for her but if the track is reasonable is going to take plenty of beating.
6. Fosse (7) J: Masa Hashizume 58kg 4X274 T: Steven Ramsay & Julia Ritchie
