Best Odds Boost Bet
5 Treasurethe Moment

It’s hard to look past this short-priced mare, who’s had a strong start to the 2025/26 season, continuing her outstanding overall form. She’s had 13 career starts for 10 wins and 3 seconds, and has perfect form at the track, distance, third-up, and with her jockey.

Even in a small field, I expect her to power home with little trouble.

Best Bet Back Bet
2 Wodeton

The three-year-old colt is chasing his second win and should be right in the mix this run. His recent form has been consistent, with two seconds and a fourth from his last three starts the most recent being at Rosehill in the Golden Rose (G1, 1400m). He did beat rivals Autumn Boy and Rivellnio last start over 1400m, and I think the 1600m will suit him much better than the shorter trips.

Best Top 4 Bet
10 The Scunner

The Scunner is looking to go back-to-back here at Ōtaki after a dominant four-length win last start, beating familiar rivals Battle Secret, Make Time, and Turn the Ace all of whom he faces again on Saturday. His track, second-up, and heavy-ground form are all in good order. He also has solid stats over the distance, with three wins from seven starts. While he’s up against some higher-rated runners, he should be right there in the finish and capable of pushing home for a Top 4 spot, especially with in-form jockey Samantha Collett aboard.

Next Best Top 4 Bet
7 Belle Du Monde

The three-year-old bay filly is looking to bounce back strongly after a quiet run last start over 1200m, where she finished seventh. She meets several of the same rivals again some of whom she’s previously beaten in her win over 1000 m. While she’s proven at the shorter distance, the 1400m will give her more time to settle off the pace and wind up late to storm home. She’s a genuine Top 4 chance, especially from barrier 1, which should play nicely into her hands. The experienced Vinnie Colgan who guided her to her maiden win is back aboard.
