A third of the NFL season is now behind us, and it’s the most wide-open season we’ve seen in a long time. The Colts lead the AFC, while the NFC has six teams at 5-1, and none of them are at the top. The Packers, who are 4-1-1, lead the NFC at this stage.
None of that matters, though, because now the Chiefs are favoured to win everything again!
Despite all the chaos, it seems everything is just how it should be.
With plenty of teams on a bye and injuries stacking up, we’re going to have to get funky for Week 8.
It’s also national Tight End Week, so keep an eye out for the big men…
Let’s do it 👇
We’re heading to the West Coast for this primetime match-up between two teams who are coming off losses last week.
Both quarterbacks were absolutely slinging it, with Carson Wentz throwing for 313 yards but no touchdowns… Justin Herbert had 420 yards through the air and three touchdowns, but the Chargers’ defence could not stop Daniel Jones and the Colts.
I’m backing a high-scoring game where both QBs duel it out once again. Jordan Addison for the Vikings has now played three games, had 26 targets for 18 catches and 283 yards.
His line is only at 54.5, which he’s cleared two out of three. Wentz will keep looking to push the ball upfield, and that’s where Addison does most of his damage.
The Vikings show the blitz the second most in the league, which means Herbert is going to have to get the ball out of his hands quickly. His main option for these types of plays… Keenan Allen. He’s seen at least seven targets a game this season, and I’d expect the volume to be there to clear this line.
Another Chargers receiver who’s been electric is Quentin Johnston. Boy he’s fast and can get downfield quickly. The deep ball, one of Herbert’s strengths, and Johnston’s speed has become a real threat for opposing defences.
He only needs one or two big catches each game. I’m going to take him for 80+ receiving yards for the game, he’s cleared this line twice in his last five games.
My Bets:
- Jordan Addison Over 54.5 Receiving Yards @ $1.88
- Keenan Allen Over 49.5 Receiving Yards @ $1.88
- Quentin Johnston to have 80+ Receiving Yards @ $5.00
A couple of weeks on and we’re getting the rematch already. Can the Eagles get their revenge on Jaxson Dart?
Neither rookie, Dart, nor Skattebo were intimidated by the Eagles when they came to the Big Apple. Now they have to head to Philly and see if they can show it wasn’t a fluke.
Sure, the Eagles are coming off a 28-22 win over the Vikings, and the Giants just blew a record 19-point lead in the fourth quarter.
It’s going to be a tough ask, though; the Giants are 0-12 at Lincoln Field since the start of the 2014 season. The line is at 7.5 for this one, and it’s a tough game to call.
Jalen Hurts became just the third player in Eagles history to record a perfect passer rating, completing 19 of 23 passes for 326 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions. A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith combined for 304 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Can he replicate something like this again? He had 283 passing yards against the Giants in that loss. His line is only at 200.5 here for this one. It’s a line I’m happy to take as he starts to find his groove and they start allowing Hurts to throw the ball more and more.
In that Giants loss, guess who had a touchdown… Dallas Goedert.
He had 110 yards on 9 catches and a touchdown, and Monday is National Tight End Day so I have to back him in. It helps that he’s also got five in five games.
The Tight End on the other side of the field is a dawg too. Theo Johnson has been huge for Dart as a redzone target.
My Bets:
- Jalen Hurts Over 200.5 Total Passing Yards @ $1.88
- Dallas Goedert Anytime Touchdown Scorer @ $2.35
- Theo Johnson Anytime Touchdown Scorer @ $3.90
Denver will be looking for their fifth straight win when they host the Cowboys in Week 8.
It’s a battle between one of the league’s most explosive offences against a defence that has shut down opposing teams all season long.
Despite some significant injuries to the Cowboys’ offence. Dak has been able to put up big numbers. Mainly through George Pickens, but CeeDee Lamb was back in the lineup last week and was productive straight away. Hauling in five catches for 110 yards.
Dak is a good enough quarterback to get over this Broncos hump, and with star pass catchers at his disposal, I’d expect to see his numbers clear 250+ passing yards.
I think when healthy, this Cowboys offence can get the better of a Broncos defence that has just let 32 points against the Giants. And this Cowboys team is healthy now so I’m backing them to cover the spread.
We know how QBs go against the Cowboys, too, though, and it’s usually pretty good. They’re giving up 260 passing yards per game, and there’s a betcha boost I’ve found with both QBs to have 250+ passing yards.
My Bets:
- Dak Prescot to have 250+ Passing Yards @ $1.82
- Cowboys +3.5 @ $1.88
- Dak Prescott & Bo Nix Each Have 250+ Passing Yards @ $4.20
Can the student become the master?
Aaron Rodgers will take on his successor in Green Bay, Jordan Love, on Sunday Night Football.
Will we see a repeat of the Favre vs Rodgers storyline? Favre got the better of Rodgers in their first two matchups, but Rodgers got the last laugh.
Rodgers is starting to look more confident in the Arthur Smith offence, and this feels like a game that the Steelers win. They should have the advantage of the defensive side, bringing pressure and getting Jordan Love out of the pocket.
The Aaron Rodgers Bowl is going to be played at a slow pace. Both of these teams play a slightly slower than average game script’s putting together methodical drives rather than explosive plays.
With the line at +3, I expect it to be competitive and stay tight with defences, causing some issues. Under 46 points seems like the play here.
We do have a Super Boost for SNF. Josh Jacobs anytime touchdown scorer paying $2, boosted from $1.58. He’s had a double in three consecutive games, and it’s clear that the offence quite literally runs through Jacobs.
At that value, it’s a no-brainer.
My Bets:
- Pittsburgh Steelers +3 @ $1.83
- Under 46 Total Points @ $1.90
- Josh Jacobs Anytime Touchdown Scorer (Super Boost) @ $2.00
Another primetime game for the Chiefs, this time they welcome the Washington Commanders.
The Chiefs are the second-largest favourite of the week at -11.5, mostly because Jayden Daniels is set to miss his third straight game.
The Chiefs have one of the better all-around defences across the league, making it a tough ask for Marcus Mariota to lead this Commanders side to any success.
Having Deebo Samuel and Terry McLaurin back on the field is great; it means Mariota will have options in the passing game. But they will rely heavily on Jacory Croskey-Merritt’s legs. He’s due for a good showing after two weeks of subpar play.
Mahomes has his offence humming now, and the Commanders’ secondary ranks in the bottom half. Back him to throw the ball A LOT on Tuesday.
It was clear that Rashee Rice didn’t miss a step on his return, and they tried to get the ball into his hands as often as they could. He had two touchdowns on his return and I think he’ll get another one this week.
My Bets:
- Jacory Croskey-Merritt to have 60+ Rushing Yards @ $2.70
- Patrick Mahomes to have 275+ Passing Yards @ $1.85
- Rashee Rice Anytime Touchdown Scorer @ $1.90
Each week, the Touchdown Factory opens up and provides four TD scorers for Monday’s games.
This is what’s being served up for Week 8:
- George Kittle Anytime Touchdown @ $2.75
- Theo Johnson Anytime Touchdown @ $3.90
- Dalton Kincaid Anytime Touchdown @ $3.05
- Darnell Washington Anytime Touchdown @ $3.90
