The Rugby Championship Round 3 Best Bets

The Rugby Championship Round 3 Best Bets

After a week’s break, the four teams are back in action, and we have arguably the biggest Test Match since the World Cup final taking place this weekend at Eden Park.

All the squads are in so it’s time to dish out my best for The Rugby Championship Round 3. 👇

Australia
vs
Argentina
Saturday, 4:30pm | Queensland Country Bank Stadium
Australia 1-12 | $2.60

Australia head back home and will host Argentina in Townsville.

They couldn’t quite do the double against the Springboks, but it was still a very successful trip to South Africa.

Argentina also split the series with New Zealand after a passionate performance in Buenos Aires.

Best Bet: Australia 1-12 | $2.60

Skipper Harry Wilson will be back in the green and gold. Returning from injury, he’ll add a huge boost to this Wallabies lineup.

The Pumas have rewarded Santiago Carreras with the number 10 jersey and there has been some movement in the forward pack but Matera and skipper Montoya are still there leading the pack.

It’s been unpredictable when these two sides have met in recent history but I’m backing Aussie on their home soil to make it 17 wins in their last 20 against Argentina at home.

Next Best: Corey Toole & Max Jorgensen Both Anytime Try Scorers | $4.20

These two wingers for the Wallabies have the ability to be game wreckers.

High flying and playing with plenty of confidence.

Jorgensen has two tries in the two games he’s played and Toole scored in his only game so far this campaign.

This boost is a great price for two wingers who are loving the style of play Joe Schmidt is running.

When New Zealand played Argentina, yes, Rieko Ioane was non-existent, but Sevu Reece on the other wing was a handful for the Pumas. I’d expect that’s where the Wallabies will look to attack.

New Zealand
vs
South Africa
Saturday, 7:05pm | Eden Park
Either Team by Under 7.5 | $2.30

The game in Townsville is essentially the curtain raiser for us here in NZ as we build up to the biggest test Razor’s side will face this year.

The big talking point of course, is the unbeaten streak at Eden Park (currently 50) and whether or not this New Zealand side can overcome the Springboks, who have had their number in recent times.

Unusual for the Springboks, but they named their team late on Thursday night and it seems to have benefited them as they were able to bring some guys back from injuries, their main man, Siya Kolisi.

This is going to be a belter so let’s hope we can pick some winners too.

Best Bet: Either Team by Under 7.5 | $2.30

I really can’t split these sides despite the odds disparity and where the money seems to be going.

Is the price reflective of these two teams or is it based on the history of the ground, I think the latter.

And for that, I’m not 100% in backing this New Zealand side.

However, I do think this will be tight, a battle upfront with the winner enjoying the treats at the end of 80 minutes.

Razor’s side will have a chip on their shoulder, though and have extra motivation to win this for the history and for their leader Ardie Savea, who plays his hundredth test match.

Maybe New Zealand 1-12 @ $2.70 isn’t a bad bet if you’re feeling patriotic.

Next Best: Will Jordan Anytime Tryscorer and NZ Over 26.5 Total Points | $3.50

A lower total set for this game but as much as it is going to be tight, I think we’re going to see some points. Not heaps, but enough to clear 49.5.

But that’s not the bet. The bet is NZ over 26.5 and a Will Jordan try.

Jordan will be keen to answer his critics after that last game against the Pumas, and if he is one of the best 15s in the world, there is no better time to show it.

Hopefully, we see some fast-paced rugby up in Auckland and see the New Zealand points tick over 26.
