Someone, tell me why this point total is so high?

Waikato have not played a game that topped this line since the first game back in July.

Manawatu, I could understand, but that’s more on their inability to defend their own tryline.

It feels like two bang average attacks going at it, so back the under.

Have Bay of Plenty fallen off?

I don’t think so. They had a tough stretch there (yes, they should’ve beaten Southland), but they should take some confidence from a gritty 19-7 win against North Harbour last time out.

Taranaki, of course, are rolling except for that one slip up against Waikato in the shield match.

This is an interesting match up and one I think could be the game of the round.

This will be the perfect opportunity for the Steamers to test where they’re at and if they’re true contenders. After Round 1, I thought the Steamers should be favourites of the comp. Now’s their time to go and prove that.

The Shield challenge no team would’ve liked to see on their first defence. Unfortunately for the Stags, they’ll host the unbeaten Canterbury side.

This isn’t a game the Stags should win but they’ve won games they shouldn’t of this year on multiple occasions. I’m giving them a shot in this one against ‘big brother’

These Shield games are always a little tighter than you think because both sides are right up for it. This line is due to the fact that Canterbury could score this on their own.
