The long, dreaded off-season comes to an end when the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, get us underway against the Dallas Cowboys.
Week 1 is stacked from start to finish. The Chiefs take on the Chargers in São Paulo, then we move to Monday, where we have divisional matchups, redemption arcs and more.
Each week, I’ll bring to you my best for each primetime game, and of course, for the redzone watchers out there, one from the early slate and another from the late slate.
Let’s not waste any more time and get into this opening game if the 2025/26 NFL Season!
The Eagles are the big favourites here for a good reason. They’ve largely maintained their Super Bowl-winning roster from last year. The only massive change is their mindset.
Everywhere I see these comments,
“That was last year”, “That’s in the past”, “We’re not worried about that”
This Philly side has no interest in what they did last year; it seems they couldn’t care less that they just won the Super Bowl. Their goal is to rinse and repeat.
A scary thought when you remember Saquon Barkley had 2k rushing yards, 27 combined rushing td’s between him and his quarterback, Jalen Hurts and a MEAN defence.
For the Cowboys, they’ve gone backwards. Losing Micah Parsons was a league-altering move and not in a positive way for Jerry Jones.
The Parsons-less defence is going to feel it right away because Jalen Hurts will have more time to work his magic. He’ll have a cleaner pocket than usual and hopefully can find some receivers in the endzone.
That’s if they’re not tush-pushing their way over.
As for them ‘boys, they’re likely going to be playing catch-up for a lot of this game.
Dak Prescott is going to have to move the ball up the field quickly to keep his side in it. The best way to do that is force force-feed their star wideout, CeeDee Lamb.
My Bets:
- Saquon Barkley Over 19.5 Rushing Attempts @ $1.92
- A.J. Brown Anytime Touchdown Scorer @ $2.55
- CeeDee Lamb Over 6.5 Receptions @ $1.91
For our Thursday Night Football games this year, we have juiced up the offer on the TNF games. Now, if you place a 3+ leg SGM and it loses by any number of legs, you’ll get your stake back as bonus cash up to $25.
So without further ado…
My TNF Send it SGM @ $33.16
- CeeDee Lamb Anytime Touchdown Scorer
- Dak Prescott 2+ Passing Touchdowns
- CeeDee Lamb 100+ Receiving Yards
- Javonte Williams Under 38.5 Rushing Yards
- A.J. Brown / Saquon Barkley 2+ Touchdowns Combined
The second game of the NFL season takes place in São Paulo. The second-ever Brazil game will go down as a Chargers home game, taking on the Super Bowl runner-up’s.
The Kansas City Chiefs.
After a 15-2 season last year, the Chiefs didn’t gain a lot of support during the offseason to find themselves back in the Super Bowl. (I hope they do)
However, they’ve proven they can coast to a 10 to 11 win season and go on the road to get to the big dance. Screw that, I think Pat Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Chris Jones and Andy Reid all have a chip on their shoulder after they were outclassed in New Orleans last year.
Jim Harbaugh’s Chargers need to keep building on their 11-6 season last year and that all depends on if Justin Herbert can finally become the quarterback everyone thinks he is.
The matchup, a hungry Pat Mahomes taking on a Justin Herbert with everything to play for. Both of these quarterbacks will bode well against the opposition defence and despite the low total, I think this screams points to me.
One of Mahomes’ big targets is going to be Xavier Worthy. In his sophomore year, no Rashee Rice, I think Worthy plays a big role in this offence and Andy Reid will work out some crafty ways to get him in the endzone.
On the Chargers’ side of things, another sophomore, Ladd McConkey, will be eager to light up Arena Corinthians.
- Over 46.5 Total Points @ $1.90
- Xavier Worthy Anytime Touchdown @ $2.20
- Ladd McConkey Over 71.5 Receiving Yards @ $1.88
The first of the ESPN games on Monday morning comes from MetLife Stadium, where these two teams, the Jets and the Steelers, have had a qb reversal.
Justin Fields (2024 Steeler) will lead the Jets out, and Aaron Rodgers (2024 Jet) will lead the Steelers out.
It’s a redemption game for both of these players, but when I look at these two teams, I just can’t help but think the Steelers win this one without too many issues.
Let’s be real, it’s also more of a revenge game for Aaron Rodgers.
Both these offenses will look very different to their previous season and it could be a messy start for both sides. This is one of the lower totals I’ve seen. Plenty of field goals it may seem…
Jaylen Warren is going to be the feature back of this side after he got the first long-term extension for the Steelers since Willie Gay. He’ll likely see the sort of volume Najee Harris got last year.
Justin Fields, no doubt, is a tremendous athlete, but someone who lacks touch in the quarterback position. He’ll have to rely on his legs to get this offence rolling.
- Under 38.5 Total Points @ $1.90
- Jaylen Warren Over 12.5 Rushing Attempts @ $1.90
- Justin Fields Over 42.5 Rushing Yards @ $1.88
Dan Campbell and Jared Goff have given the Motor City something to cheer about over the last two years.
After gaining the number one seed last year, they bowed out in disappointing fashion and will now have to try again with two new coordinators.
Green Bay looks like they’re ready to make a serious run this year with added weapons on offence and they’ve also bolstered their defence by trading for Micah Parsons.
That makes this a juicyyyyyy matchup for our late Monday morning fixture.
In all honesty, I’m not buying this Packers hype. I still need to see more consistency from Jordan Love, and Micah Parsons needs his back medication to even be able to suit up.
The Lions have built a winning culture over the last two years. The talent that this offence has. Their defence benefits from Aidan Hutchinson returning from injury, I think they take this out at Lambeau Field.
It wouldn’t take much convincing for me to take Josh Jacobs to score but at those odds, we need more value. I’m backing the touchdown scorer combo market with him and Jahmyr Gibbs.
I’m also expecting this new Lions offence to not only get the ball in Gibbs’ hands but also their star wideout, Amon-Ra St. Brown.
- Lions to Win @ $2.10
- Jahmyr Gibbs / Josh Jacobs 2+ Touchdowns Combined @ $2.30
- Amon-Ra St. Brown Over 66.5 Receiving Yards @ $1.88
The Bills were favoured in every game this year during the preseason, but it has swung in the Ravens’ favour.
This is a heck of a Sunday Night Football matchup to add to an already electric Week 1.
Last year, these two teams met twice, splitting the series, but the Bills won the important one.
They triumphed in the AFC Divisional Round, 27 points to 25. As ‘MVP’ chants for Josh Allen rang out in Buffalo.
I’m backing Josh Allen and his shiny NFL badge to get the job done at home.
He’s got to take on one of the more physical defences in the league, but he’s the type of guy with a strut in his step, Hailee Steinfeld on the sideline and an MVP to his name to rack up the stats.
We have a super betcha boost on Josh Allen to rush for a touchdown (or catch one because he did that too last year) so get amongst it.
- Bills to Win @ $2.05
- Josh Allen Anytime Touchdown Scorer (Super Betcha Boost) @ $2.50
- Over 50.5 Total Points @ $1.87
There have been plenty of ex-players talking about how the NFL shouldn’t schedule divisional games this early in the season and that they need to give the teams more time to iron out all the wrinkles before the ‘more important’ games.
This is the second NFC North match-up in Week 1…
There are plenty of expectations around both of these young quarterbacks and their offences.
J.J. McCarthy, who helped lead Michigan to the national championship in 2023, will be under centre, hoping to get the ball in Justin Jefferson’s hands.
Justin Jefferson is quite literally qb-proof. He just keeps putting up ridiculous numbers no matter who is throwing him the ball.
D.J. Moore is another receiver we’ll be keeping our eyes on. We have the Super Betcha Boost on both Jefferson and Moore to record 40+ Receiving Yards each.
Moore has Ben Johnson as his head coach now, who will be dialling up plenty of crafty ways for this offence to get the ball in his hands. Not to mention Caleb Williams, who will be stepping into his second year as the leader of this Bears unit.
McCarthy, in his collegiate career, had a reputation for check-downs and short-yard passes. Who’s going to be his get-out-of-jail card? T.J. Hockenson.
You’re probably asking who wins this? I’m taking the Vikings to cover -1.5 in McCarthy’s debut
- Jefferson & Moore 40+ Receiving Yards Each (Super Betcha Boost) @ $2.20
- T.J. Hockenson to have 5+ Receptions
- Vikings -1.5 @ $1.90
Each week, the Touchdown Factory opens up and provides four TD scorers for Monday’s games.
This is what’s being served up for Week 1:
- Travis Hunter Anytime @ $2.75
- Malik Nabers @ $2.35
- Mike Evans @ $2.10
- James Cook @ $1.98
