4 Ride The Tide won a similar race last year for trainer/rider Marieke Simons. Has had a couple of runs over short trips to get him ready for this which seems to be a target race for the horse. Even field but at the $12 and $3.50 is worth a spec bet each way.

1 Run Jakko Run raced keenly in a very strong race last Sunday and paid the price at the business end. Drops back in class here and looks very well placed.

2 Brady covered extra ground early in the day at Whanganui last week and that wasn’t the place to be at that stage. Still pressed on to be not far away at the finish. This looks an easier assignment and although the $4.50 opening price is no spoil, should be hard to beat.
