She lines up again against race rivals Queen’s Evidence, Little Black Dress, and Too Sweet. Although this race is longer, the way the filly finished off over 1200m suggests she will look to wind up late and finish strongly.

The pace-setting Bosch is coming off a gritty, narrow win at Ellerslie two weeks ago over 2200m. His recent form is hard to fault, with two wins and a second from his last three runs over the 2100m–2200m trip. He’ll need to dig deep again as he faces familiar rivals Drop of Something and Diamond Jack, who loom as his biggest dangers, but Bosch’s toughness and consistency make him a leading contender once more.

Another Wil is coming off a sixth-place finish in the Memsie on 30 August over 1400m and hasn’t had much luck of late. Still, he looks ready to charge into a top four effort here. His track and distance form is strong, and he continues to build nicely into his prep. Second-up, he has an excellent record winning three of four starts which makes him very hard to overlook at these odds.

Cannon Hill is coming off a fifth-place first-up effort here at Ellerslie over 1300m against a very strong field. His form shows he is more often than not in the mix over 1400m, and with the experience of jockey Matt Cartwright riding him for the sixth time, with one win and two seconds already. I expect them to continue that form this weekend and finish inside the top four.
