NPC Round Three

NPC Round Three

We move on to round three of the NPC, and there are four undefeated teams left standing.  Bay of Plenty, Hawkes Bay, Taranaki and Canterbury. One of those teams will have a one marked in the loss column as the game of the round is Bay of Plenty hosting Canterbury.

Our Same Game Multi last week just needed an Auckland try on the buzzer and we would’ve had a $15 shot home and our four leg multi went 2-4 so we’ll build on that.

Let’s get into my best for the weekend 👇

Bay of Plenty
vs
Canterbury
Saturday, 2:05pm | Tauranga Domain
Bay of Plenty 1-12 | $2.80

We were on the money with last week’s winning margin best bet, where the Steamers managed to beat Counties Manukau 39-22.

Canterbury came back and held on against Auckland to win 19-15. They’ve had two massive tests to start the season and passed both so far, but now they’ll have to face the in-form Steamers.

Bay of Plenty should be the favourites to win the comp after how they’ve started the season and I think they’ll move forward to 3-0. The line suggests a tight one but I’m happy to take more value in the winning margin.

They have yet to be tested so far, but as I said above, Canterbury have had two huge games to start the season, and there is a chance that they run out of puff in the Bay.

Northland
vs
Tasman
Saturday, 2:05pm | Semenoff Stadium
Leicester Fainga’anuku / Macca Springer 2+ Tries | $2.20

Tasman are on my no bet list after their round one performance but I can still back a try scorer or two, right?

Especially when the Mako are facing Northland who are likely to be a bottom three team this year.

Leicester Fainga’anuku was back with a bang last week, scoring a double in quick succession. He’ll move to centers this week to accommodate David Havili starting at fullback, and Macca Springer and Kyren Taumoefolau will be on the wings.

This game should be blown wide open, and if the Mako can play anywhere close to how they played against the Turbos we should see plenty of tries.

Auckland
vs
Taranaki
Saturday, 4:35pm | Eden Park
Value SGM | $8.38

Taranaki piled on the points last weekend in a demo job of North Harbour. They were leaky on defence, though which makes me feel like they could be a bit vulnerable this weekend.

Auckland’s match-up with Canterbury was a low-scoring grind, quite the opposite of the Taranaki, North Harbour game and I think the bookies are looking too much into it.

The total is set at 58.5, which feels pretty high for what’s going to be a tightly contested fixture. I think we’ll see a game similar to the Canterbury, Auckland game last weekend.

Both Xavier Tito-Harris and Cody Vai found the line last week and for our multi, we just need one of them to dot over.

  • Under 58.5 Total Points
  • Either Team by Less 7.5
  • Codemaru Vai / Xavier Tito-Harris 1+ Tries Combined

When you get in the betcha app be sure to take advantage of the Same Game Multi Cover tool, so if the multi misses by one leg, you’ll get your stake back as bonus cash up to $50.

4 Leg Multi | $30.32
  • Bay of Plenty 1-12
  • Auckland / Taranaki Under 58.5 Total Points
  • Wellington 1-12
  • Waikato -6.5

When you get in the betcha app, be sure to take advantage of the Multi Rescue tool, so if the multi misses by one leg, you’ll get your stake back as bonus cash up to $50.

I’m sticking with one unit on each of the best bets, and half a unit on the value sgm and four leg multi. Let’s hope for some green ticks!
