Undisputed (#5) has looked very good at the trials. Scratched the other day from a wide gate but drawn ideally here and can make a winning debut. Pentagon went super after a wide run at Pukekohe and must be respected.
Valvano (#4) would have won his trial easily if he had’ve been let go. Bred to stay all day but his trial suggests he has good pace too, and if he handles the track, he will be hard to knock off. Opening price $5.
Saint Bathans (#2) had no luck on this course two starts back. With Mercurial in the race, he comes in very well at the weights, and although he doesnāt win out of turn these days, this looks a great opportunity for him. Opening odds $4.40.
