Probably the most deserving two sides to be playing the final, but it will be played at the fortress that is the Apollo Projects stadium.
After the Chiefs forgoed home-field advantage, they now must travel to Christchurch and try to be the ones to finally beat the Crusaders at home in a playoff game.
The Chiefs are in their third consecutive final. Can they finally get it done this year?
Let’s get into my best three picks for the final.
Either Team to Win by Less than 7.5 | $2.05
When these two sides met earlier in the season, the Chiefs won 49-24 and 35-19.
Fair play to them, but both those results came during great conditions which allowed for free-flowing rugby, a style that suits the Chiefs to a tee.
Fast forward to Saturday night in Christchurch, where it won’t be getting above 10 degrees and a low of -2, she’ll be a different beast altogether.
Talk about a style that suits the Crusaders. Physical, tight and compact and in the wet. I think both sides have their advantages and disadvantages, but at the end of the day, these are the two best teams in the comp, and it’s going to be a tightly contested game for the full 80 minutes.
The Chiefs have shown they’ll take the points when on offer, and the Crusaders can defend 40+ phases to save a game.
Expect a test match like footy game where neither side really runs away with it.

Under 49.5 Total Points | $1.80
For all the reasons above, I think the total is too high. We’ve already seen it start to come down as well, which means money is coming in the way of the unders.
Now both of their last meetings cleared this total with ease, but as I said. Expect a test match-like game of footy and expect both sides to take the three when on offer.

Emoni Nawara / Leroy Carter to have 1+ Tries Combined | $1.63
Both of these wingers have been a class above the rest in recent weeks.
Combined, they have 5 tries in their last seven games, where the only game neither player didn’t score was their 20 points to 19 loss against the Blues.
Both of them have a habit of scoring against the Chiefs as well. Both times they’ve played them, the pair have scored a double between them.
This game will be tight and played through the middle, but I doubt that in their third consecutive final, the Chiefs will shy away from the moment.
They’ll have their opportunities, and there will be chances wide.
