Magnastar (#3) has been going some huge races against the track bias at his last couple. Has had a few hard runs but if he’s still got petrol left in the tank, he will be very hard to beat. Very reasonable opening odds of $5 and $1.95.
Live On Air (#9) is a local who had been going big races before being caught very wide on a New Plymouth track with a severe inside bias. The run still held plenty of merit. As usual at Matamama, the race has some depth, but she can bounce back here. Opening odds $4.60 and $1.75.
There are a few nice chances in this race but a couple have opened too short so we will plump for the value here. Tregor (#3) has been going really gold races without the rub of the green. Sam Collett rides for her father so you can guarantee the horse is ready to go. Each way chance and a Top 4 player too. Opening odds $10 and $2.90. Top 4 $2.10.
