A-League Best Bets | Semi Finals: Leg 2

As expected, Melbourne City and Auckland FC are heading into the second leg with the advantage. Melbourne City dominated in a 3-0 win while Auckland played out a tighter affair and came out on top 1-0.

Two for two with the best bets in the first league but we also snagged a Marco Tilio assist. Guillermo May not being able to score being the only miss.

At the end of the weekend we’ll know what our A-League final match up will be and hopefully we’ll be celebrating some more winning picks too.

Auckland FC
vs
Melbourne Victory
6:00pm, Saturday
Auckland FC to Win @ $2.10 & Guillermo May Anytime Goal Scorer @ $3.50

The Black Knights are halfway to the A-League final with a win or draw this weekend being enough to not only make the final next weekend but to host it too.

Last weekend they had to work hard for their 1-0 win in the rain at AAMI Park. De Vries to Rogerson was the connection that put them in front.  I wouldn’t say the pressure is off, but they can let their shoulders down a little.

They’ll be able to control the tempo at home and play the game they want to play it. They’ll win this at home and punch their ticket to the final.

Also, we have the promo on offer again where if AFC lead at any time you’ll be paid out early!

And once again, we’ve been hooked up with a tasty betcha boost so you already know I’m taking it. The team’s golden boot for the season and at that value, why not.

Melbourne City FC
vs
Western United FC
9:35pm, Saturday
Under 2.5 Goals @ $2.35 & First Half Result: Draw @ $2.30

We won’t get the same value on Melbourne City to win this week after a dominant performance last week.

Technically a home game for City, hopefully we’ll see some more fans get to AAMI park. The weather didn’t help last week in the second game and the pitch did not hold up well. These two teams will play on that same pitch once again and I have a feeling it will be a little tighter for two reasons.

One being, Melbourne City won’t want to blow this lead. They’re 3-0 up on aggregate and don’t need to do anything special to move on to the final.

Two being, Western United must make some magic happen but I don’t see it happening on that pitch. It’s hard to control and build any meaningful attacks.

With those things in mind, I would be surprised if we see more than two goals. Western United are going to have to come out swinging but City should be able to hold them off. I like the first half result to be a draw also.
