Suffering back-to-Back KO losses against Topuria and Makhachev, Volk makes his return against Deigo Lopes who is on a 5-fight win streak as they battle it out for the vacant Featherweight title.
Diego lopes is a fast starter but more recently walking away with 2 Unanimous decisions in his last two fights, he is untested stamina wise in a 5-rounder where Volk has ample experience. If Volk can sustain pressure and drag Lopes into the later rounds Volk can excel.
Either look for Lopes to finish this one ASAP, or Volk to play it smart and take the fight into the championship rounds of unfamiliarity for Lopes.
Michael chandler has been eagerly waiting a return to the Octagon, but ran out of patience waiting for McGregor, Chandler now fights 22-3 Paddy Pimblett in the co-main who is on a 8-fight win streak (6-fight win streak in the UFC).
With 22 wins and 10 by submission, Paddy is yet to have a 5 rounder in the UFC, where Chandler is coming off two losses against Charles Oliveria by decision and Dustin Poirier by submission. Paddy has had two 5 round fights in Cage Warriors and lost both by Decision. Chandler had much improved defence against Charles Oliveria’s takedown and submission attempts last year, with quick evasion showcasing his athleticism but not enough to win the fight.
Mr worldwide is not entering the octagon, but Patricio Pitbull is making his UFC debut and he’s up against Yair Rodriguez who Is in search of a win after his last two defeats to Brian Ortega and Volkanovski.
Pitbull is a dawg, and a big name in Bellator but makes his UFC debut at 37.
A serious threat but arguably past his prime he won’t want to stay on his feet against a taller faster Yair and should be looking at taking him to the ground. Yair Rodriquez’s time an experience in the UFC against top competition can help him here with his unorthodox style, height and reach advantage.
The Fighting Nerds remain undefeated in the UFC and I see Jean Silva continuing his impressive 12 fight winning streak, with his last 4 fights winning by KO/TKO, a total of 15 wins with 12 by knockout.
14 wins 12 by KO/TKO, has fought the like of Jon Jones, Jan Blachowicz and Jiri Prochazka, although losing to all three he has turned that experience around and is on a two-fight win streak.
Krylov will be looking to make a statement in his first fight since 2023, on a 3-fight win streak, an awesome battle between Grappler and striker.
