2020/21 New Zealand Jockey Premiership winner Danielle Johnson, who now resides in Hong Kong, has provided us with her top three to follow on Saturday, 22 March. Check them out below π
Loses Tina Comignaghi but does look well placed here, and at $6.00, is an each way play. This filly has performed well at Stakes level throughout the season and got within a length of Pivotal Ten at listed level over this distance on a wet track last December. Third that day was Loose Sally who was a black-type winner a few weeks ago. Forgive last start when racing wide on the pace in a race that suited the swoopers.
Difficult to find great value at Trentham from early odds that were posted but Pearl Of Alsace looks overs at $6 and $2.30. She has had zero luck in recent starts. Has a good record at Trentham and finally gets to see a track with decent give in it. She is clearly the highest rated horse in the race yet because of the set weight and penalty conditions gets in on the minimum weight. This looks her chance.
Difficult to say itβs great value because who knows how the track will be playing at Trentham on Saturday, but Platinum Attack is very well placed in this race. Has been going some huge races at weight-for-age Group 1 level and set weight and penalty Group 2 level. Back to handicap racing here and gets in on the minimum. If the track plays fairly, he will be very had to beat. Odds $7 and $2.50.
