Hopefully Storm Darragh has finished causing havoc and we get all 10 Premier League games this weekend.
No Friday night game so we’re going to have to wait until Arsenal kick things off early Sunday morning when they welcome Everton.
This week is headlined by the Manchester Derby which feels like it could go either way.
I’ve had a look into the numbers, checked the form and hopefully found some winners.
18th plays 19th here when Ipswich head to Wolverhampton to battle it out at the bottom.
Neither of these sides give me any confidence but I do think we’ll be treated to some goals. Wolves have been on the wrong end of a few beat downs, not that I think Ipswich are going to put five past them but I do think we’ll see three or four goals.
The league leaders had the week off after Storm Darragh took over. Liverpool also had a mid-week win in the Champions League thanks to Mo Salah who scored in the 63rd minute.
He’s been an absolute machine this season and I can’t see him slowing down soon.
It seems like Diogo Jota is back in the squad and if he gets a start I could see him netting one as well.
After dropping points to Fulham last weekend, Arsenal bounced back mid-week during the Champions League with a 3-0 over Monaco. Bukayo Saka had a double and Kai Havertz added the finishing touches.
Taking that momentum into this weekend’s game at the Emirates Arsenal need to keep rolling to stay in touch with Liverpool and Chelsea at the top.
The Magpies are now winless in their last four games after losing last weekend to Brentford. I think their bad run of form continues this week when the Foxes come to town.
Newcastle just haven’t been able to defend conceding seven goals in their last two games. Yes they’re at home but if you can’t defend you won’t be winning games… unless you’re Chelsea.
Aston Villa secured a late win over RB Leipzig during the week thanks to Ross Barkley.
Nottingham and Villa are tied on 25 points but Nottingham sit in 5th thanks to GD. They’ll want to keep their spot in the top five with a home win.
It’s been a bit of a Cinderella run for them but at the moment it feels like it might be slipping a little. I’m happy for Woodsy and the Trees to prove me wrong though and continue on their merry way.
Easy one here, Brighton to win.
Only one of these teams are able to score at the moment and it’s not Crystal Palace.
The first Manchester Derby of the season.
Man City get to host the first fixture but they suffered another L to Juventus. Pep still hasn’t figured things out and I think that will continue this week.
The first half is going to tightly contested with both sides trying to work each other out and settle into the derby.
A goalless first half wouldn’t surprise me but I do think there will be some second half drama like every good derby has.
This is a game that Spurs should be winning despite being away from home. Southampton are bringing up the rear and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them there all year.
But you never know with Spurs, they tend to win games they shouldn’t and lose games they should be winning.
Two goal scoring machines go head to head at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea should be too good for the Bees at home but as I said earlier, Chelsea don’t really defend that well and neither do Brentford.
This game reminds me of when Chelsea travelled to Wolves and treated us to 8 goal bonanza.
To round us off for the weekend we’ve got the ‘boring’ game of the week. This will more than likely end in either 0-0 or 1-1 draw.
Neither of these teams are exciting me at the moment, but both teams are coming off wins last week.
