Premier League Best Bets | Match Week 9

Premier League Best Bets | Match Week 9

Match week 9 is headlined by what could be a season defining fixture, Arsenal hosting top of the table Liverpool.

Before we get to the main event of the weekend, the nine curtain raisers beforehand are set to provide us with some thrilling fixtures.

Let’s take a look and see what we’ve got for this week.

Leicester City
vs
Nottingham Forest
8:00am, Saturday | King Power Stadium
Under 2.5 Total Goals | $1.80

The Chris Wood show was back in town, helping his side overcome Crystal Palace. They will travel to King Power Stadium to take on Leicester who have won two on the trot.

Nottingham have stood strong in defence all year, they’re scrappy and will fight to the end. Only one of their fixtures this year has seen more than three or more goals, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

Brentford
vs
Ipswich Town
3:00am, Sunday | Gtech Community Stadium
Over 0.5 Goals Between 00:00 – 15:00 Mins | $3.00

Kieran McKenna’s side are still yet to find a win in the Premier League this season, they’ve lost four and drawn four placing them in 17th.

Brentford have been in great form, especially at home winning all but one of their five fixtures at home across all competitions. After blowing an early lead to Man United last time out, the Bees will looking to get back on track with three points this weekend.

They like to score first and when they do, it tends to be early on. Let’s get back on the train and back the Bees to find the back of the net within the first 15 minutes.

Brighton & Hove Albion
vs
Wolverhampton Wanderers
3:00am, Sunday | Etihad Stadium
Brighton to Win & Both Teams to Score | $2.80

The Seagulls are currently flying high, sitting in fifth place, they have not suffered any October frights yet after they managed to overcome a two-goal deficit against Spurs early in the month.

Meanwhile, for Wolves, it’s been a horror show from the get go. Sitting at the foot of the table would suggest nothing is going right for them, however they have scored in each of their Premier League fixtures this season. It’s a shame they can’t keep the ball out of their own net.

Manchester City
vs
Southampton FC
3:00am, Sunday | Etihad Stadium
SGM: Erling Haaland to Score First, Manchester City to Win & Over 2.5 Total Goals | $3.15

More late heroics from John Stones saved Man City against Wolves last week. Pep Guardiola will be hoping to avoid the same stress that faced last week, they had a dominant win midweek which found Haaland back on the score sheet.

Sitting second to bottom, Southampton are one of four teams yet to win, they were close last week but seemingly forgot that a football game is longer than 60 minutes.

I see the Citizens winning this one comfortably with Haaland contributing the first goal, ending his four-game goalless streak in the Prem.

Aston Villa
vs
AFC Bournemouth
3:00am, Sunday | Villa Park
Aston Villa to Win & Both Teams to Score | $3.20

Aston Villa are rolling at the moment. Not only are they fourth in the Premier League but they’re top of the Champions League table as well.

Last week the Cherries shocked the league by handing Arsenal their first loss of the campaign. They’ll need to tighten up defensively this week though as they’re yet to keep a clean sheet away from home.

Villa should be able to win this one at home but I’m not expecting the Cherries to be a pushover.

Everton FC
vs
Fulham
5:30am, Sunday | Goodison Park
Draw | $3.20

Has Sean Dyche figured things out for Everton? A 0-0 draw with Newcastle, followed by a 2-0 win over Ipswich might suggest so. They’ve been able to keep clean sheets in their last few league games which has aided their recent success.

Fulham are dead in the middle of the table, tracking well before the international break with 11 points. They now find themselves starring down the barrel of three defeats in a row.

I’m not sure a lot separate these teams at the moment, Everton might turn this into a bit of a scrap in front of a home crowd.

Crystal Palace
vs
Tottenham Hotspur
3:00am, Monday | Selhurst Park
Tottenham to Win | $1.80

Crystal Palace have been one of the worst teams in the league, far from their form of last season.

Spurs on the other hand have been sneaky good as Ange Postecoglou has his team firing with three home wins from four. In those victories, Spurs have scored at least three goals.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Spurs go on and win this three or four nil, but at the head to head odds, I’m happy to stick with them.

West Ham United
vs
Manchester United
3:00am, Monday | London Stadium
Man United or Draw & Both Teams to Score | $2.05

The Hammers were on the wrong end of a 4-1 defeat to Spurs last weekend and Julen Lopetegui’s side need to click into gear if they want to turn their season around.

The Red Devils are searching for their first back-to-back wins this season, but I think this is a fixture where both teams can cause each other trouble.

It almost feels like it’s a must-win for both sides but I’m liking the team with a touch of winning momentum to come away with the fruits in this bout.

Chelsea
vs
Newcastle United
3:00am, Monday | Stamford Bridge
Chelsea to Win & Both Teams to Score | $2.88

At times, Chelsea have looked like a great bet to play Champions League football but after losing at Anfield and drawing with Nottingham, you start to lose confidence in them. Just as it was last week, this is a big test for Enzo Maresca’s side and if they’re the team they hope to be, they come away from this one with three points.

Only Man City have beaten Chelsea at Stamford bridge this year, but both Crystal Palace and Nottingham have managed a point. I can see this one being a tightly contested battle with Chelsea ending up on the right side of things.

Arsenal
vs
Liverpool
5:30am, Monday | Emirates Stadium
Liverpool to Win | $2.85

We’ve made it to the main event of the weekend, a depleted Gunners side, facing a flying dutchman with his table-topping squad.

This has come at the worse time for Arsenal after a shock defeat to Bournemouth, an unconvincing midweek win and no Saka, Ødegaard or Saliba, and yet, somehow, they’re still favourites.

Arsenal need this win, I think they’ll sit back and try soak up pressure and look to score on the counter but this Liverpool attack is on fire with Mo Salah leading the charge.

It might be too much for the Gunners to handle at home, I see Liverpool coming in and winning a massive one on the road.
