2024 NFL Week 8 Best Bets

2024 NFL Week 8 Best Bets

With a third of the regular season in the books we finally saw some favourites dominate the slate. Some big wins from Superbowl contenders like the Lions and Texans who’s offenses were humming.

After a couple high-profile trades, and unfortunately, more injuries, here’s where I’ve landed for this week’s games.

Los Angels Rams
vs
Minnesota Vikings
1:15pm, Friday | SoFi Stadium
Minnesota Vikings -3

The Minnesota Vikings were handed their first loss after a thrilling divisional game against the Lions. They continue their road trip, heading to LA to take on the Rams. Cooper Kupp is expected to be in the line-up which is great for the Rams offense that has lacked consistency.

I’m backing Kevin O’Connell to lead his team to a bounce-back road win over a team that barley beat the Raiders. Sam Darnold should have plenty of success against a defence that has struggled against the pass, especially the deep ball.

Justin Jefferson will reap the benefits of this and will no doubt have some explosive plays. I see him having a hundy yard game.

Odds around the anytime touchdown scorers in this one are very light so we’re looking into the combo markets. I think we’ll see a few guys get in the endzone but I like Jordan Addison to find the paint, probably coming from a deep ball.

My bets

Minnesota Vikings -3
Justin Jefferson to have 90+ Receiving Yards
Jordan Addison Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Cincinnati Bengals
vs
Philadelphia Eagles
6:00am, Monday | Paycor Stadium
Cincinnati Bengals -2

Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins will be licking their lips at this match-up. The Eagles defence ranks dead last against WR1’s, it doesn’t help that Darius Slay is hobbling around and rookie Quinyon Mitchell will be tasked with stopping this duo.

It doesn’t get any better for the Eagles either as it seems like Joe Burrow is all the way back. 14 touchdowns and a pair of interceptions for the season has Burrow ranking in the top-five of nearly all the quarterback metrics.

Jalen Hurts has struggled at times but he’ll be helped by the return of A.J Brown and DeVonta Smith. Still I’d back the Bengals defence to keep their impact to a minimum.

My bets

Cincinnati Bengals -2
Joe Burrow to have 2+ Passing Touchdowns
Tee Higgins Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Seattle Seahawks
vs
Buffalo Bills
9:05am, Monday | Lumen Field
Buffalo Bills -3

This is a tough spot for the Seahawks, they just beat the Falcons who have been on a heater, and as a reward, they get to face the Bills who keep getting better.

Bills mafia were treated to their first taste of Amari Cooper and they loved it. Four catches for 66 yards and a touchdown, what’s not to like. Heading into this one Coopers role will continue to expand as he starts to learn the playbook a little more.

We’re unsure if we’ll see DK Metcalf suit up but Kenneth Walker will have a huge role to play in this one regardless.

My bets

Buffalo Bills -3
Amari Cooper to have 75+ Receiving Yards
Kenneth Walker Anytime Touchdown Scorer

San Francisco 49ers
vs
Dallas Cowboys
1:20pm, Monday | Levi’s® Stadium
Dallas Cowboys +4

After their massive 47-7 loss to the Lions two weeks ago, there was no other team in the league that needed a bye as much as the Cowboys did. Dak Prescott has been well below the MVP level he was playing at last year and now finds himself in a must-win situation.

The 49ers are suffering from a Super Bowl hangover with a 3-4 record. They are currently the walking wounded which means the offense lies on the shoulders of Brock Purdy. He’s shown what he can do with an elite supporting cast but when they aren’t around… he stinks.

The 49ers will have to do the damage on the ground. The Cowboys still haven’t figured out how to defend the run, so any success they see will likely come through Jordan Mason.

My bets

Dallas Cowboys +4
Under 46.5 Total Points
Jordan Mason to have 80+ Rushing Yards

Pittsburgh Steelers
vs
New York Giants
1:15pm, Tuesday | Acrisure Stadium
New York Giants Under 15.5 Total Points

Head coach Mike Tomlin went lone ranger on the call to start QB Russell Wilson and it looks like he made the right call. The Steelers saw something from their offense they haven’t seen more than five years.

The Giants on the other hand have scored 10 points in their last two games. The Steelers defence is also one of the best in the league so good luck Daniel Jones who is 1-15 as a starter in primetime.

Russ seems to have unlocked George Pickens who seems to be able to catch anything. He had 111 yards and his first touchdown on the season last Sunday and I think Russ will continue to the air it out to Pickens.

My bets

New York Giants Under 15.5 Total Points
George Pickens to have 60+ Receiving Yards
Malik Nabers to have 60+ Receiving Yards

Other Games

In other games it’s the number one overall pick Caleb Williams hopefully taking on number two pick Jayden Daniels. The Commanders have been on fire and as underdogs, I like them to at least cover the spread against the Bears.

The Chiefs have just added DeAndre Hopkins to their receiving room which could be exactly what they need. They are currently running half an offense but continue to reignite these so called ‘washed’ players into something special. I’m thinking he’ll have an instant impact on this offense and could find the redzone in his Chiefs debut.

The Panthers have announced Bryce Young will once again be their starting QB, they’re a pretty bad football team but after sitting for a couple of weeks I think Bryce will come out against the Broncos with something to prove.

My bets

Washington Commanders to Win
DeAndre Hopkins Anytime Touchdown Scorer
Carolina Panthers to Win
