2024 NFL Week 3 Best Bets

2024 NFL Week 3 Best Bets

Week two is behind us and if you’re a favourite bettor, it’s a week you’ll want to forget.

The dogs were barking, going 9-5-1 against the spread and 7-8 straight up. The largest underdog to win was the Las Vegas Raiders taking down the Baltimore Ravens as nine-point road underdogs.

The Saints rolled into Dallas and scored a touchdown on each of their first six drives with Alvin Kamara contributing to four total touchdowns! If you’d said after week two, the Saints would have scored a combined 91 points and are looking like a top five team with Derek Carr under centre, I guarantee you not even a Saints fan would have believed you.

There are a lot of teams in the NFC that are looking like contenders as both the 49ers and Lions dropped to 1-1… I liked the Bucs to cover the +7.5 spread but Baker and the boys went one better walking out of Ford Field 2-0.

The Chiefs are still the Chiefs, despite turning the ball over three times. For anyone saying the refs bailed them, that call is a DPI every day of the week.

And to cap it off, Kirko Chainz drove the Falcons down the field to score with less than two minutes and no timeouts, handing the Eagles their first loss of the season.

We managed to land a few rare winners throughout the week two so it wasn’t all doom and gloom. But with six chances to provide some winners this week, I’m looking to get back into rhythm and see some more green ticks.

New York Jets
vs
New England Patriots
MetLife Stadium, New York | Friday 12:15pm

Aaron Rodgers technically earned his second win for the Jets, apparently his four snaps last year counted as a win. They’ll be looking to get two on the bounce as they come up against AFC East rivals, New England Patriots.

The Jets have relied heavily on rb Breece Hall who already has 207 all purpose yards with two touchdowns. The Patriots have allowed rushing touchdowns in both games so far which gives me reason to back Hall to find the endzone again this week.

Rhamondre Stevenson has been New England’s version of Breece Hall amassing 216 total yards and a pair of scores as well. He has had over 80+ yards in both games and is the clear alpha in this offense. He comes up against one of the worst rushing defences and will be looking to cash in.

Rodgers started to shake the dust off during the second half against the Titans. His line is set at 215.5 and as he starts to look more and more like his old self, this line is too low. Back ARod to clear this against a team that are giving up the sixth-most passing yards in the league.

My Bets:

  • Breece Hall Anytime Touchdown Scorer
  • Rhamondre Stevenson 80+ Rushing Yards
  • Aaron Rodgers Over 215.5 Passing Yards

Send it SGM: $49.10

  • Over 38.5
  • Garret Wilson Anytime Touchdown Scorer
  • Breece Hall to have 30+ Receiving Yards
  • Aaron Rodgers to have 225+ Passing Yards
  • Rhamondre Stevenson to have 80+ Rushing Yards
  • Jacoby Brissett Under 165.5 Passing Yards
Minnesota Vikings
vs
Houston Texans
U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis | Monday 5:00am

For the second consecutive week, the Vikings are home underdogs. The bookies aren’t showing any respect to the Sam Darnold led Vikings, maybe because we’re not 100% sure on Justin Jeffersons health. If he is out there though, I think we may see the Vikings progress to 3-0 on the season.

Don’t get me wrong, C.J Stroud and the Texans are fun to watch. Nico Collins is the clear wr1 with 135 yards and a touchdown on the night and Tank Dell has an official chain wearer. What’s not to like?

Collins leads the league in receiving yards after two weeks and I don’t see him slowing down to a team that gave up nearly 300 yards through the air.

The Texans defence was relentless, and Caleb Williams ate hits all night. However, the Vikings O-line won’t be as bad as the Bears, who practically rolled out the red carpet for DeMeco Ryans group. Sam Darnold should have some time in the pocket again this week which will allow him to hit his receivers for some more big plays.

My Bets:

  • Vikings to Win
  • Nico Collins Over 70.5 Receiving Yards
  • Justin Jefferson Over 93.5 Receiving Yards
Dallas Cowboys
vs
Baltimore Ravens
AT&T Stadium, Arlington | Monday 8:25am

The Ravens are searching for their first win of the season. This weekend in Dallas it’s basically a pick’em with the Ravens being favoured by a point. The way I see it, Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry, and the Ravens aren’t leaving Arlington with a third loss. Have you seen Dak Prescott’s record against teams that finish with winning records?

Zay Flowers had himself a game last week, he had the most targets with seven catches, 91 yards and a score. After Alvin Kamara bullied the Cowboys last week, I expect them to have a heavy focus on King Henry who can be just as dangerous. But only paying $1.65 to score, I’m happy to look elsewhere.

This opens things up for Zay who should be able to clear his receiving line of 54.5 yards.

If you do like the ‘Boys it’s hard not to look past these Dak and CeeDee Lamb to both go over their lines. They managed it last week in a blowout loss and I think they can do it again in what should be a closer game against the team that has allowed the most yards through the air.

My Bets:

  • Ravens -1
  • Zay Flowers Over 54.5 Receiving Yards
  • Dak Prescott Over 260.5 Passing Yards
  • CeeDee Lamb Over 85.5 Receiving Yards
Atlanta Falcons
vs
Kansas City Chiefs
Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta | Monday 12:20pm

Kirk Cousins proved a lot of people wrong with a comeback win on primetime television. In back-to-back primetime games, they host reigning Superbowl champs on this SNF matchup as 3.5 point underdogs.

The Chiefs are 2-0 thanks a foot and a toe and haven’t looked all that special. They did this last year in the regular season so I’m not too worried. But this does feel like it could be a trap game, similar to when the Chiefs took on the Packers last year.

Questions around the running back position for KC could be a concern as Pat will need to rely heavily on his pass catchers. The only receiver with confidence at the moment is Rashee Rice, but if there was ever a time for someone to step up, it would be old faithful Travis Kelce. A slow start, and he knows he needs to be better.

The Chiefs defence should be able to put some pressure on Kirk which means checkdowns and screen passes to Bijan. I have him clearing his receiving line.

My Bets:

  • Falcons +3.5
  • Travis Kelce 60+ Receiving Yards
  • Bijan Robinson 30+ Receiving Yards
Buffalo Bills
vs
Jacksonville Jaguars
Highmark Stadium, Orchard Park | Tuesday 11:30am

Last week I backed the Dolphins over the Bills in primetime, this week in primetime I won’t make the same mistake. I wasn’t convinced on the Bills heading into last week but this week I’m all in. The Jags are all over the show, their offense lacks consistency and they have struggled on third down. The line is set at 5.5 with the Bills favoured at home and I think they should be able to get the job done.

Josh Allen had 15 rushing touchdowns last season. He will surpass that this year, having to rely on his legs more without an elite pass catcher. Yes James Cook had a career night on TNF but he’s not going to score three touchdowns every game.

Gabe Davis is used to catching passes in Buffalo, but this week he’ll catch passes from Trevor Lawrence. Incoming revenge game? Davis leads all Jacksonville receivers with 10 targets. It’s a tough match up for Davis, I don’t think he will go off but I am considering him to catch a pass in the endzone if Trevor can stay patient in the pocket.

My Bets:

  • Bills -5.5
  • Josh Allen Anytime Touchdown Scorer
  • Gabe Davis Anytime Touchdown Scorer
Cincinnati Bengals
vs
Washington Commanders
Paycor Stadium, Cincinnati | Tuesday 12:15pm

Are the 0-2 Bengals panicking right now? No, they’ve been in this position before and Joe Burrow was able to get into a bit of a groove throwing for 258 yards and two touchdowns. They’re in the jungle and this is a perfect situation for the Bengals to get their season up and running.

Ja’Marr Chase is currently not doing himself any favours if he wants that contract. If he wants to beat out Justin Jefferson for the highest paid receiver he needs to start turning up. Emotions got the better of him last week and he will be rearing to go this week.

Joe Shiesty looks like his old self and Ja’Marr will be looking to have a statement game. The Commanders have given up six touchdowns to receivers through two games, the most out of any team. A guy of his talent should be able to get open in the endzone and record his first touchdown of the season.

The Commanders put up over 400 yards in total offense last week but this Bengals defence has been locked in on the passing game, so it’s unlikely Jayden Daniels gets it done through the air. Instead, look for the Commanders to continue to try to get it done on the ground.

My Bets:

  • Bengals -7.5
  • Ja’Marr Chase 80+ Receiving Yards
  • Ja’Marr Chase Anytime Touchdown Scorer
  • Jayden Daniels 30+ Rushing Yards

In other games, I’ll keep saying it. Marvin Harrison Jr will be set too low, he went off in the first quarter but didn’t have much else to do in the rest of that win over the Rams. Once they get him involved in all four quarters this guy is going to go crazy.

Baker Mayfield, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin are all having fun down in Tampa and I think they’ll continue on and beat the Broncos by more than a touchdown. Also how could we not look at this game… even with the benching of Bryce Young, it still feels free to bet against the Panthers. Give me Raiders -5.5.

Let’s hope for a bounce back week, whether you’re taking SGM’s, touchdown multis, or singles there should be some winners in there for you.
